Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Great photos. Thanks for posting, Laura.

We had a great day. We went to Mass MoCA and to our favorite tapas restaurant. However, I really really overdid it. So, now I'm an anxious hurry mess and trying not to be a total bitca. I'm mostly failing.

You can't leave me to my own devices; my devices are Nap and Eat. -Zenkitty

I am mixing a production of Rent tonight. I've never seen the show, never shadowed on this production, and I think I know maybe three of the songs. Talk about sweating bullets! Serious butterflies tonight. But at intermission, the director said it sounded good, so....

Whee!

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

I believe that is a dress for people who would like to moon the world but are not quite audacious enough to just drop trou

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Wow, thanks for those, Laura! Love the amazement on the dad's face, and the intentness and focus of the mom's, and that is seriously one of the happiest-looking newborns I've ever seen, so eager to scoot on out into the world and meet her family. The way she and her father are looking at each other, it's like they're both saying, "Ah, yes, of course it's you."

Trust my rage

I love all those pictures but the first one brings me to such a visceral memory sort of place.

Our wings are not tired.

WS, I was confused until I caught up with Natter, then understood what dress you were speaking of...

I love all those pictures but the first one brings me to such a visceral memory sort of place.

Oh yeah. I try and forget that part and focus on the joy part. Dad's joy was totally contagious.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Those pictures are awesome. My friend Matt's second daughter was born in the parking lot of the birthing center.

Our wings are not tired.

Not exactly like you can tell the baby to just hang on a few more minutes, not like you would want to either. Doesn't seem like it would be very comfy in a car or wheelchair, but then again, not comfy anywhere. Wish I had done the water thing. That sounds better.

Compassionately intolerant

The birth I attended was long on hot tub, extremely short on delivery.

The midwife said that the mother could not get in the hot tub because her water had broken. I hope never to see the expression on her face on any other human ever. It was right out of Supernatural.

After an hour soaking, we really needed to get her upstairs. That was a bit of a trial, but she made it to the bathroom. Sat on the toilet for 5 minutes, in severe pain. We walked her six feet to the bed, to lie her down on her side...she sort of fell over and the baby was born as she was falling.

The cord was wrapped around the little boy's neck twice. The parents never knew until they saw my pictures.

I'm sure it's a major anomaly, but the mom never even took a Tylenol. Tough as nails that one.

hip deep in pie

My coworker gave birth to one of her kids in an ambulance on the side of the road. The ambulance just made it there. Or else it would have been just her and her husband in their car.
