I got scolded for being disruptive. It came out a few months later that my giddiness made some people feel bad, ie jealous.
Cripes. That reminds me of a time a few years back when my boss told us we had to stop having potlucks and bringing treats in because it was "exclusionary". (It wasn't her issue, but another department head who was bitching, even though we always invited everyone on the floor to come and grab some.)
Oh, my current job has the "exclusionary" thing. The QA department was doing Waffle Wednesday, where they'd use the kitchen in the break room to make waffles for themselves. Apparently some of the people in my department whined about not getting any. The QA department was also told they could no longer have their own fridge and microwave in their suite. QA can get a little testy with the rest of us.
Niki made it out of her surgery...thank God...and is beginning her recovery. Her daughter says the breathing tube should come out soon.
I've been so out of sorts all day, not able to think of much of anything else. Now, I think I can rest...but the prayers won't stop. The woods have not been cleared yet.
But still. She made it.
bonny, so glad about Niki. Continuing good ~ma for her!
Good to hear, bonny. Quick recovery wishes.
Good news, bonny! Quick recovery for Niki, and chill-ma for you.
Yay, Bonny! Great news! I wish her (and you) well. And Steph, more good news! Congrats!
I kid you not, it sounds like the
rats in my attic are playing a full-scale soccer match.
The rodent specialist cannot get here fast enough. (Monday. Just a couple more days.)
Thanks, dearies.
It seriously feels like a ton of weight has been lifted from my heart.
Of course, there is a long way to go but hurdle number 1 is cleared.
Steph, I'm SO glad for you. Such a prestigious assignment! May it bring you hours of contented labor and the big bucks, of course.
