[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I think you may get the volunteers more easily if the job title is "cupcake protector".

(a shield with a protector logo is *best*, but a crest on a patch is fine)

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I cannot offer shields or crests (my DIY for this wedding is limited to making my bouquet and the photo jar centerpieces, which I am attempting tonight for the THIRD time [I am not so good at DIY, which is why I only undertook 2 projects (unless writing a snarky program counts; if it does, then 3 projects)])*, but based on reports from my mom and stepdad, who were in charge of buying the booze, I'll be able to offer a brave volunteer his or her very own bottle of champagne. Or two.

*(My god, how I love my nested parentheticals [which is a hard word to type (and say)]).

FTW.

Sorry for the stress, Steph and smonster.

Hil, you're a hero.

Me, I had a night of crappy sleep. Went to bed at a reasonable time, but I stayed at a friend's place whose couch is in a room which faces the street, with no real option to close the windows. I'm used to a certain amount of background noise, but this Not A Main Street did a pretty good impression of a main street during the night. Woke up at least 6-7 times.

(Hi, did I use "whose" and "which" right ? I'm still kind of sleepy, but would like to know).

Our wings are not tired.

Hi Shir, yes, you used both correctly. Sorry about the poor sleep!

Ugh. Had long-awaited date. Thought it was going ok but maybe not super hot (entertaining but not touchy, but some folks aren't). Drive her back to her place, thought she might be like "ok great to meet you bye!" Instead she invited me in for coffee. I thought that was code for "let's make out", but apparently it's code for "let me give you a tour of my apartment and make you tea and chat and when you eventually say you need to get going, back away from a kiss". Uh, ok....

Thank you, java.

meara, I didn't read the history, but I hope your date is just a bit shy/needs time to open up to people.

Always Anti-fascist!

I am that person. But have never dated Meara.

Erika, are you that person who invites someone in for coffee but doesn't want to make out? Or the super shy person who backs away when someone actually lays a kiss on you??

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I've been both those people. Do kids have to make out on a first date these days? Maybe it's best I don't answer those OKCupid invitations (one of them did want oral sex--dude, I said I'd knock you out. That's not the same as "socks off", even if you want to go down on me)

Always Anti-fascist!

I don't think I would back away, no, but mostly, I'm slow to warm up.
