B&B Throwdown 2013: the short version is that the owner assured me that the wedding is the top priority and that all the tour stuff should be wrapped up by 3:00, because there's a play that's part of the tour that starts at 3:00.
The longer version is just more detail on the above. She said her staff would be setting up the house for the wedding like normal, and the organizers of the tour event know that there's a wedding that takes precedence.
I'm going to assume she's being honest, and take her at her word. She reiterated that we can come at 2:00 to set up that day. So at this point, if there are any problems the day of the wedding, I'll just remind her that she said the wedding is the priority.
I'm still dubious about the idea that the overlap won't be a problem, but at this point I'm going with her assertion that the wedding is the priority.
She still should have told us what was going on. What the hell.
(Specifically a fairy penguin, or as I still occasionally depict them, the Cincinnati penguin.)
Otherwise known as The Dumbest Penguin In The World.
I am glad that the B & B owner is saying the wedding has the priority. I agree she should have told you about this tour ages ago. Some things should just not be left as a surprise to a bride.
Just saw a girl here at the airport wearing a slightly large (but not enormous) button down shirt, and either no pants, or shorts so short I couldn't see them...and a hijab. Very odd.
Teppy, all the ~ma that the owner of the B&B is true to her word regarding your wedding being the priority.
In diamond shoes news TCG has my car because his is at the mechanic and now the On Demand feature on the cable box isn't working.
My On Demand freezes the cable box. I think it's just a cruel joke at this point. Or, you know, like cold fusion, where it sounds good in theory.
Tep, beginning to understand why they have so many farces about weddings.(of course, in those a reenactor would *totally* open the door on you.)
Steph, it's completely fucked up that she didn't tell you when you booked the place! Did she have an explanation why?
meara, that is indeed odd.
billytea, did the pelican's face look like this? [link]
No work today because my boss "needed a day to reboot." He has a cold but honestly I suspect that the first Saints' home game yesterday was a bigger factor in not being ready for today. I'm kind of cranky about it because we only had a couple hours of work on Thursday, and that means my paycheck (despite the raise) is going to be pretty small (our pay period goes from Weds - Tues). Last paycheck was small because of Labor Day.
I'm also cranky with myself because I have plenty of admin work to do to make up hours, and haven't been able to focus and get it done. It's not just that I work better in a team, it's that I find it nearly impossible to work any other way. Which makes me feel weak and silly.
Is there anything else you can do to make work more workable, smonster? Like the Panera work-at-home fix?
Like go sit somewhere and work so I'm around people? Yes, potentially. I need wi fi and I hate to spend even a couple of bucks on a drink, but at least I'd be earning money instead of hating myself for "slacking". I wish I'd thought of that logic this weekend.
There's a reason I did a very high percentage of my college work in coffeeshops.
smonster, library. public colleges should have some open floors of the library to the public, but sometimes they lock down their wifi.
