'Out Of Gas'

Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

I am glad that the B & B owner is saying the wedding has the priority. I agree she should have told you about this tour ages ago. Some things should just not be left as a surprise to a bride.

Just saw a girl here at the airport wearing a slightly large (but not enormous) button down shirt, and either no pants, or shorts so short I couldn't see them...and a hijab. Very odd.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Teppy, all the ~ma that the owner of the B&B is true to her word regarding your wedding being the priority.

In diamond shoes news TCG has my car because his is at the mechanic and now the On Demand feature on the cable box isn't working.

Always Anti-fascist!

My On Demand freezes the cable box. I think it's just a cruel joke at this point. Or, you know, like cold fusion, where it sounds good in theory. Tep, beginning to understand why they have so many farces about weddings.(of course, in those a reenactor would *totally* open the door on you.)

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Steph, it's completely fucked up that she didn't tell you when you booked the place! Did she have an explanation why?

meara, that is indeed odd.

billytea, did the pelican's face look like this? [link]

No work today because my boss "needed a day to reboot." He has a cold but honestly I suspect that the first Saints' home game yesterday was a bigger factor in not being ready for today. I'm kind of cranky about it because we only had a couple hours of work on Thursday, and that means my paycheck (despite the raise) is going to be pretty small (our pay period goes from Weds - Tues). Last paycheck was small because of Labor Day.

I'm also cranky with myself because I have plenty of admin work to do to make up hours, and haven't been able to focus and get it done. It's not just that I work better in a team, it's that I find it nearly impossible to work any other way. Which makes me feel weak and silly.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Is there anything else you can do to make work more workable, smonster? Like the Panera work-at-home fix?

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Like go sit somewhere and work so I'm around people? Yes, potentially. I need wi fi and I hate to spend even a couple of bucks on a drink, but at least I'd be earning money instead of hating myself for "slacking". I wish I'd thought of that logic this weekend.

There's a reason I did a very high percentage of my college work in coffeeshops.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

smonster, library. public colleges should have some open floors of the library to the public, but sometimes they lock down their wifi.

smonster, library.

I was thinking that would be too quiet (I napped in the library on a regular basis in college) but I can listen to podcasts on my headphones. I have books to return anyway, and it says they have wi fi... worth a shot.

See, I even needed help thinking that part through. Duh.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

yeah well, the libraries I've been in have not been too quiet. you may need to choose your part in the library. the lobby area may have more hustle and bustle than an upstairs room.
