Tep,
man. this is a lot to take in. You know, buffistas and friends of ours have had a very nice day getting married in a courthouse and having a reception/party afterward.
Spike ,'Conversations with Dead People'
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

If you need a witness for a secret courthouse wedding, I work downtown. Just sayin'. (I have actually been a witness for a downtown courthouse wedding once!)
Also, if you get married at the courthouse, be sure to get your receipt, and take a picture, like amych.
Oh, and A, the other main participant in this discussion, I barely know. Met her once at the last bellydance workshop I took (she wasn't taking it, but was part of the dance community there). She makes super cool jewelry, if you want to help her pay off her crushing student loan debt (but you'll have to check back in August - [link]
I'm actually on a desktop computer for once, instead of reading on my phone.
So, LAURA, I am SO glad you and B sold that boat. Your charming husband takes the cake! Hope it leads to a bit less stress.
Julie, I've been reading your saga for a while now and am glad it's resolved, even though you've got a couple of weeks of being inconvenienced in front of you. After that - voila! I'm glad it won't be haunting you any more.

We'll still have the shindig in September, but I have a feeling I'm going to need to be on Tim's insurance before then.

Oooh! That would be awesome!

Heck yeah! I'ma frame that sucker!
I went to needlepunch class. It was fun. It's also called punch needle. The patterns I've seen (and the one we're doing) is kind of country primitive. Which is nice, but not my style. However, the lady teaching the class said it's easy to adapt patterns from cross stitch or even make your own.
I want to do geeky stuff.
smonster, I'm having to remind myself of the caffeine truth. SO many coffee milkshakes to get through the stress of this last week. Not helping in the long run.
Steph, I share java's optimism. Severance can be very nice, but who knows, maybe the new folks will be smart enough to offer you an even better gig?
So. I went to dinner with the co-worker and it as BIZARRE. No lie, this entire week has been crazycoocoo.
The only acknowledgement of his behavior was, "Thanks for not killing me." Which is cool. I really didn't want to rehash.
BUT, he chose the restaurant because it is his usual...so much that they know what he drinks. Whereas he has _major_ protocol issues with restaurants based in his history as a manager of a high end eatery, he apparently does not extend those high expectations to his own behavior.
He drank two martinis but ate exactly one bite of his meal before having the waiter box it up and leave it on the table. I had only had two bites of my meal before this happened.
He mentioned four other people who 'always pay the check' when they go out with him. I thought to myself, "Try it Buddy. Just try it." But, thankfully he did not.
He left me at the table for roughly 30 minutes while he went out to smoke and had a conversation with a friend he ran into on the street.
Yeah. I'm glad we are past the weirdness of his behavior toward me, but there is definitely something weird going on there.

Cocaine? Narcissism? Both? Assholery?
bonny,
he is a passive aggressive shit, to start.
Yeah. Both of you are on to something.
I think he may be drinking much more than anyone suspects. He said he didn't eat his dinner because he was 'full from drinking too much water.'
He is a skinny as a rail, and now I'm wondering if he has the sort of problems with his stomach that drove my alcoholic father to drink his vodka in milk.
