Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

There were some loud-ish exclamations invoking God on my part.

My exclamations at that point would have invoked the mighty "FUCK" and "NO." Gah, Teppy!

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Ouch, Teppy. I think alcohol is definitely in order.

I'm picking up Mexican take-out, and TCG is making margaritas.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Jilli,

I hope things are okay and going as well as could be expected. Hang in there. If you need an army of flamethrowers for back up, please do not hesitate. I have been itching to set something on fire.

Things went well. Okay, as well as it could. The meeting lasted all of 15 minutes, because I had let the HR munchkin know I was declining the PIP and wanted to take the job find option. Monday will be the meeting to go over the process and the legal doc. Umbridge already has a transition plan in place to hand off my work, surprise surprise.. She's sad that things went like this, because she really likes me, thinks I have a lot of potential, and wants me to stay at the company.

She encourages me to work remotely as much as possible for the time, and that I should frame this, if asked, in terms of taking a short leave because of health issues. I nodded a lot and said, "That is an option, yes."

I'm going in at 11 tomorrow to check email, go to lunch with the UX team, and Be Present.

I feel relieved and FAR less stressed.

WOW Jilli. Not sure I understand the subtext of all of this, but text sounds ok.

I don't know why, but my mom telling me this afternoon that she plans on retiring this year has somewhat amplified my anxiety levels.

The subtext is that Umbridge wants to frame my not being on the team being due to health issues, not that she tried to put me on a PIP that I turned down and wrote a rebuttal to. Because she knows damn well that the person who is viewed as lacking credibility in all of this is NOT me. If I'm not in the office, she can make sympathetic noises about "Poor Jillian, the stress got to her" and hope that her incompetence and empire-building go unnoticed for longer. So sad that plan isn't going to work for her.

Hi, I'm an eldergoth. I do petty social politics REALLY WELL.

I think it's sort of driving home the fact that I should be preparing to take care of her if need be, and I don't even know how I'm taking care of myself long term right now.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

U is the name of your boss right, not the company? Initial only in case you need to delete.

Yeah, F that. If you do work from home until there's a resolution, then all anyone who asks needs to know is "I'm working from home for a while." Full stop.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Just in case anyone is unclear on this point, clonopin is the best thing in the world.
