Spike: Ladies. Come on in. Plenty of blood in the fridge, don't be shy. Dawn: You mean like, real blood? Spike: What do you think? Dawn: Mostly I think, 'Eew!'

Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

It's not intense pain, but my whole body hurts, and has done since I got out of the water on Saturday after going to the aqua-Zumba class. Its not ordinary muscle soreness from doing different exercise. I wonder if I am so heavy that after a brief, blissful hour of lowered gravity I am hurting from re-entry. Everything I do hurts, even lying down. Too much gravity. I suppose there might be some effect from donating blood on Friday. Maybe a double whammy or something.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Or maybe a low-grade virus of some kind?

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Or the class being in the water caused you to use core muscles that don't get much action in the ordinary course of things. After my first Pilates class, I ached from the inside out, which was not like the pain from, say, overdoing it in aerobics class.

I suppose that is possible. If so, then I suppose it'll clear up on its own in a week or two. ETA This was in re: the virus idea. Though, it can apply as well to the core problem as well.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Andi, I just want to hug you. Getting in shape hurts a helluva lot more than getting out of shape, that's for dang sure. My knees are hurting for the first time in my life. There should be some reward for starting an exercise program, to keep us going, but the body just bitches about it.

God, right? My favorite thing is how, if you're not really careful, you can hurt yourself and then not be able to exercise. Fuck you, body. I'm doing this for you.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Congrats, Suzi!

I getting very frustrated with how many phone calls and how many different people I need to contact to see a doctor about my hand, which is extremely painful and my thumb joint isn't working properly.

Also, William Shatner is now sharing anti-vax conspiracy theories on Twitter and complaining about all the mean autistic people bullying him.

Gah - following the promotion, now I'm struggling with my own case of imposter syndrome. My workload has been light lately and despite a bunch of people who say they would love to have me help them, another solid project has yet to come through for me.

I have been invited to the Project Controls Summit next week. For my sector, I am the lowest level invitee. And then today I got asked to be on a panel for one part of the meeting. Both invitations should bolster my confidence in what I do, but I feel like an utter fake.
