Ugh, Tom. It does seem to be a pattern that at least a few successful predators use. They spout the right language and ingratiate themselves with women, and women lower their guard.

Reading that thread at Jezebel, this comment stuck out to me:
I've been in that situation before with more than one woke dude, and it definitely goes way deeper than simple immaturity. There's a performative aspect to it, where it's not about actually being woke so much as it's about making sure everyone around them knows just how enlightened they actually are.
That could have been any one of the tweets about P-C that I've seen.
