These girls have the most beautiful dresses. And so do I -- how about that?

Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

And none of us deserving the cruelty or the grace -- Leonard Cohen

That's great news, Suzi!

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Awesome, Suzi!

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Congrats, Suzi!

Another unseasonably warm day. It's 67 degrees and rising. The cats are happy, the plants are confused.

Our wings are not tired.

Yay Suzi! Enjoy.

He said he was pushing himself to keep his body and mind sharp. But it's cool that he is pushing his boundaries.

That is great to hear, askye. It really is important and it is wonderful that he knows that. Now, watch me make this mememe...

Yay me being off computer for 3 days! Yes, I had my phone, but sucky service and I hate doing anything but texting or messaging on it anyway. So I spent Friday and the weekend at the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission's Becoming an Outdoor Woman seminar event. Hanging with a bunch of women in cammo and taking classes including Talkin' Turkey, Knot Tying, Small Game Hunting, Bird Watching, and a bunch of other stuff. Spent several hours out in the swamps in a huge ass swamp buggy yesterday and today. I didn't do so much of the skills type classes of shooting or archery, but more of the educational type ones. The enforcement officer that taught the turkey class had dinner at our table one night and noting my green dot for vegetarian on my name tag told me he would be happy to let me know which berries were good and which plants had fresh water in them and so forth so I could survive in the wilderness without resorting to eating bugs or squirrels or whatever.

We had a nice discussion about acquiring knowledge. I haven't eaten turkey in probably 40 years, but now I know 4 different calls and how to construct and use a blind and a whole lot of other knowledge about hunting wild turkeys. All knowledge is valuable and learning new things and exposing yourself to different and new things is as important for the aging brain as it is for the toddler brain. So YaY brain stimulation.

We also sang around the bonfire each night as a couple women brought instruments. There were ~140 women from all over and it was fun to meet them. The coolest ever was a 'balance' service animal for one woman. 156 pound dane of some sort who was so attentive and capable. The woman was going on hikes and everything despite her serious balance issues because Tolkien was by her side. She said he detects her being unsteady before she even notices. You could see it too. Providing safety and security for her. His only issue was the potty stalls where he couldn't fit because he was very anxious waiting for her.

Thrive to spite them

That's awesome Laura!

So I am learning to be spontaneous.. Engineer Guy had a surprise for me - two nights at the B & B we stayed at. Tomorrow and Tuesday night. I only had to shuffle one thing around. I kind of feel that we should just be going on regular dates like ..bowling or something (he doesn't like to go to movie theaters so no movie dates) but this is fun. And I'm feeling wooed and swept off my feet but in a good way.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

This is mean, but when I call my best friend, I want her to talk to me, not sidetrack into a conversation with her (19 year old) daughter in the middle of my sentence. This happens almost every time I call her, and it's really frustrating.

Our wings are not tired.

Enjoy, askye!

Not mean at all, Zen. Reasonable. If there isn't blood or smoke involved there shouldn't be interruptions.

Awww, my friend from Kenyon, Kristen, helps train Great Danes for this service. And she named one of the puppies after Emmett! So imagine Emmett as a gigantic black and white floppy eared Great Dane.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I can imagine that! Though an orangey brindle would be even more on point.
