Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

we do that because we don't get it, Connie. Also, I always think I broke it.

Yeah, that did sound kind of dismissive. I like working with the honestly unknowing and wanting to know what happened. And I fully understand that most people don't know what I know about the damned things. It's the cranky, offended people who I'm tired of, like "How dare you not know what element of Windows interfered with your program?

I know people get upset with updates and feel helpless when everything they thought they understood has changed, but I swear no one here in tech support gets their jollies from talking to pissed people. Well, there was, but he got fired for it.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Boss is just a hot mess. So disorganized, so frenetic, so crazypants, so overcommitted.

Hil, I hope you have fun if you go. Those types of events are tough.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I think I'm not going. I always push myself to go to these things, because I feel like I should be more social, but then I never enjoy myself.

Update on my dad: the test results (blood tests, EKG, X-ray) are all normal, which generally indicates he didn't have a heart attack. However, based on the symptoms that Dad had/is still having, the doctor wants to keep Dad overnight and run the blood tests again overnight.

The blood tests measure changes in a protein that gets released when the patient has a heart attack, so it's a time-sensitive thing. It's possible that the test that they ran in the ER might have given the result for the protein level from earlier today, when he wasn't having a heart attack, but maybe he really DID have a heart attack some time today, and if the test is run tonight, then it would show the changes in the protein level from later in the day.

Does that make sense? The status is basically Maybe You're Okay But Maybe You Had A Heart Attack, So Let's Hang Out.

He sounds fine on the phone, and, honestly, if he did have/is having a heart attack, he's in the best possible place. And he's survived 5 heart attacks, so #6 is really just like taking a victory lap.

Hubby's first Heart Attack I Was Aware Of was like that, no signs of the enzyme, recent tests showed fine. In fact, the previous test was so good that the cardiologists were saying "Why are you wasting our time with this when there are sick people out there?"

We were in the ER, Hubby was being held overnight just in case, they finally convinced me to go home, and the phone's ringing when I get in the door. It's the ER saying, "OK, the enzymes just came back positive, we're taking him to the catheterization lab, you'll want to get back here."

I suspect he probably had #6 today, given the fact that the doctor wants to run those tests 2 more times. It sounds like the doctor suspects a heart attack, too.

I'm considering trying my mom's cocktail of Ativan + chardonnay.

I won't. But I thought about it.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

I think with Ativan you want a nice Cab.

(This is the kind of thing I say when I want to comfort someone who's not a hugger or punctuation-receiver. Do you feel the love, Tep?)
