Well, look who just popped open a fresh can of venom.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Compassionately intolerant

The menfolk that surround me "wash" the dishes and then I have to take them out of the rack and put them in the dishwasher because not so much with the cleanliness.

I got into SO much trouble while traveling with some young folk in Wales.

Their method of dishwashing (partly cultural-no rinsing/partly youth-no time!) made me physically ill.

I snuck down in the night to rewash everything for fear of ptomaine poisoning. I got caught. Not pretty.

My mentally ill grandmother and father taught me, by dint of nevermind, the sanctity of the clean cupboard. I wash pretty much everything BEFORE sitting down to eat. Or, at least rinse well.

Went to the doctor this morning, was prescribed Prozac/fluoxetine for my anxiety. It's a low dose, but I'm always leery of brain drugs. The side effects sheet is appalling as usual, so I'm wondering if anyone has experience with it.

Because books.

I've been on it for a few years now, Connie, and I've had pretty much zero side effects except maybe a little fatigue when I started it.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

The only problem I had with it was that it made me sleepy during the day.

So taking it in the evening sounds like the best plan.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

I took Prozac some decades ago. It helped.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Everyone in my extended family knows that the rule if you are dining with my grandmother is to volunteer to wash dishes the INSTANT dinner is over and do not take no for an answer. Because if you don't, she will rinse everything in scalding hot water and call it a day - no soap, no scrubbing. Either she's alive today because exposure to all potential foodborne illnesses over the years have given her an iron-clad immune system, or because she's always had either a husband, 4 kids, or a housekeeper to prevent her from doing dishes and poisoning us all.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Prozac/fluoxetine

Tom's been taking it for years, it's been a constant through the rest of the medication fiddling.

What is even happening?

What do you say when someone loads your dishwasher with 2 weeks of dirty dishes that were stacked all over the counters and dining room table?

I'll tell you what you DON'T say: "You're doing that wrong! They'll come out dirty." I think fire might have shot out of my eyes.

Teppy, I think fire is SUPPOSED to shoot out of your eyes at that point.

I need to schedule a colonoscopy, because it's that time of my life. I can cope with the procedure, but I don't want to have to drag someone along to take me home and nursemaid me while I sleep off the sedation. My SIL is just coming off pneumonia, and I don't want to bother FauxSon, because he's done so damned much for me re: the move. I need Rent An Adult.
