To my credit, I've never actually thrown up on a medical person ....
Oooh! I have! I have! Right on a cute little resident who thought the to-the-bone wound on my wrist after I put it through a window was "so cool" he forced me to look at it. I looked, it was pretty cool, and then YAK! All over his shiny new white coat. Told you I would throw up if I looked at it.
Fuck cancer.
Tep, I am so sorry you're having a hard time today. :( Boo.
I'm sorry, Fred. Much comfort~ma to Arthur and his people as you all go through this.
Fuck Cancer.
I wore my size 18 jeans today. They were snug but not too snug.
Thank you all for the thoughts. Arthur is getting his first chemo, along with a massive infusion of stem cells, today.
Related questions for Southeast-istas -- how bad is the weather supposed to be over the next couple of days? Hubs is in Athens, GA right now. The plan is for him to drive (with Arthur) to the Lake Norman, NC, area tomorrow and from there home on Saturday. The Weather Channel Web site says winter storm expected over that area over the next couple days -- only a few inches, but I know that it doesn't take much snow to snarl up that part of the U.S. completely. Better to wait an extra day or two?
I'd wait an extra day or two, Fred. They are calling for 3-6 inches starting Friday night, and for the temps to not go above freezing until Monday afternoon. I expect some snarl.
I'm sorry about Arthur, Fred.
Yeah, I don't think the Lake Norman area is looking at a lot of snow, but it'll get snowier as he goes east and/or northeast. And NC has not improved its ability to can when it comes to winter.
Remember the dog bite incident back in late November? I got a call today from a "legal investigator" for Petco who was asking questions about the incident. I'm assuming this is to try to hold me responsible for the worker's comp costs. I gave the facts, kept it simple, and we will see what happens. My home owner's policy would cover any liability. Just dang - two months later?
Thanks for the advice. It looks like they'll be okay tomorrow (Athens to Lake Norman) -- nothing worse than some rain during the day.
We'll play wait and see about the second leg. I-77 goes through a mountain pass just after you enter VA, and Hubs isn't thrilled with driving through it in the best of conditions. Plus he drives a car that doesn't perform the best in snow. Also, they'll be staying at the same place they stayed on the way down, and apparently it's very nice. Which means staying an extra day wouldn't be any hardship.
Also, just spoke to the oncologist -- Arthur has a 50-50 chance of remission. We've had worse odds.
