Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

she said that her biggest heart attack symptom was "not feeling right"...not chest pains or pains in the arm. Just feeling very off.

I do understand that (because heart problems are definitely not always textbook-perfect cases of symptomatology), but it frustrates me because -- when it's the first or only symptom he tells me, with no context -- I don't know what that means! If he said "I'm worried about my heart, because I'm not feeling right," that gives me context. But this time he actually didn't even say "I don't feel right"; he said "I don't feel good," which, to me, is the ultimate context-free vague statement on one's health.

I have a sore throat and aches and a headache, and they've been hanging around for 3 days, so I, too, "don't feel good." But I don't need to go to the ER. For all I knew, based on his opening statement, Dad had a cold.

It's just frustrating to me, because I worry about him. Chest pains mean Get Thee To The ER Now. And telling me "I don't feel good" is just wasting time.

(I'm not trying to argue with you, Suzi; I'm just venting my frustration.)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Aleve is the only OTC pain med that does anything. It helps with period cramps. Tylenol, Advil, aspirin...might as well be Pez.

My pain doctor has prescribed me some anti-inflammatories that I can't read the label of. I don't think I've heard of them before, so! Adventure!

dear jeebus, Steph. At least he called, and didn't muddle through it. Tons of heart~ma to your dad.

Woke up today, and really am in awe. Sharp pains are gone. Getting up from bed (any standing motion was the bulk of the pain) was pain free. I still have some basic aches. Which feels like "oh right, I did exercises yesterday" aches. I'm just in awe that my hamstrings were killing my back. And very thankful it was that easy to get on the path to right. So do your stretches, people! And thanks for all the concerns, and helping me figure it out.

Always Anti-fascist!

Aleve does work on me, but not really if I need to keep doing things...better at night. Tep, if your dad wanted to make you nuts on purpose, I doubt he could do it more thoroughly.

Compassionately intolerant

Chemistry is weird, yo.

Aleve works on headaches for me, with no side effects.

To be honest, ibuprofen makes me feel ookie but the pain/fear is enough that I can't be fussed about that right now.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Much ~ma to your father, Steph. And to you for putting up with him.

My headaches tend to be triggered by my neck, so Aleve works better on them than ibuprofen, but if I need to take ibu I usually combine one ibu with one regular Tylenol.

hip deep in pie

Aleve is naproxen isn't it?

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Aleve does a wonderful job on pain for me, but unfortunately it also makes my throat swell shut.

Ah, well.

No worries, Teppy. I'm sorry you are feeling cruddy.

I actually had to tell one of my PMs to reboot his computer. He was asking me Excel questions yesterday and today he was complaining about it lagging and added that everything on his computer lags. Ummm, when was the last time you rebooted? Months ago, eh? How about you give that a shot?
