I just looked up malignant hyperthermia. Wow, that's a new one to me. We got a bunch of things in first responder certification ("EMT lite") that you don't get in first aid, but not that. Glad you are getting answers, now for results.

Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Maybe this is helpful smonster? Y'all have this, [link] which does a lot of Contracting. (The place I'm retired from is the SF Bay Area analog to this agency.) If you do the paperwork to get yourself certified as a dbe and a wbe - - disadvantaged business Enterprise and women business Enterprise -- and get yourself listed, you'll get information anytime there's a contract. Contractors are always looking for dbe and wbe subcontractors. The contracts that are listed right now R4 technical work, but all kinds of stuff comes through. I don't remember if we issued a proposal for this so I might be arguing against my own advocacy, but we hired somebody to drive all around on the freeways and take photographs of all the call boxes. I always thought that sounded like a really good job.

Omins, my dad had gallstones trapped in his bile duct, and they used the scope to widen the duct, flush the stones out and were done. (This was after several days of antibiotics.) Much less invasive than surgery and they didn't need to remove his gall bladder.
Omnis, I'm glad they found something that looks treatable and have a plan with which to move forward.
smonster, I'm glad our schedules might intersect. I'll be leaving on the 23rd and coming back the 27th (weather permitting), but there's a far bit of overlap.
WOW omins! Ouch!

So, I had a sucky week. My heat was out and my management company was not answering my calls or emails. then Thursday, the heat was back on.
Friday, I missed a call from them on my cell.
Saturday, I checked my messages to see if there was one from my sister about bringing a card table to the family Xmas gathering and found instead the message from the management company that I was behind on my rent and they would start eviction procedures on Tuesday if I didn't pay it by Monday.
So, very upset now I checked my bank account on-line and there was the rent payment and the payment installment for the heat treatment last summer for bed bugs. Both cleared the bank.
So now I'm very upset and have to go face my whole family with this on my mind. And I couldn't keep it together and wound up telling my siblings what was going on.
I am now pissed and have plans to go to the bank tomorrow and get the print out of the payments and take them to the management office and ask WTF is going on.
My niece who's a semester away from her law degree says they can't do this without cause. But, I'm wondering if the heat thing was deliberate and they are trying to passive/aggressively get me to move out.
This company bought my building early in the summer and it's been drama ever since.
I don't really have the money to move. I was already upset about how my paycheck isn't really covering my bills anymore. my checking account was down to 3 dollars the day before my last paycheck hit. Between not having any savings and barely making it though every 2 weeks.
I don't need this drama but I'm kind of stuck and getting more upset about it. If I hadn't been such a mess at the family party, I wouldn't have told them anything. Now, I might be able to get help to move but what I want is answers and to be left alone.
((quester)) I hope that this was just some sort of weird mistake.
Turns out yesterday I went to work an hour early...I didn't realize because I'd written it down wrong, so I left early today and that kind of made up for it.
{{{quester}}} I'm sorry, but yeah I wouldn't be terribly surprised if they're trying to make you leave so they can raise the rent considerably. I've had it happen to me before.
I am having one of THOSE days. We just transitioned to a new database - it's a big deal because not only does it have all our member information on it, but we use it for joining, renewing, registering for educational events and a whole bunch of other stuff. The old database went down on the 6th and this one was being checked and tested and so on since then.
Today, it's all supposed to be up and running ... only it's not. The link for online registration produces a "this page can't be displayed" message. The member log in process doesn't work. They changed MY login information and didn't tell me. And I'm supposed to be working away on the website changing all the links (even though they don't seem to be working). And the person managing the transition keeps working on pages I need to edit and leaving them open so I can't access them.
And to make life complete, the guy who sits next to me runs the office fantasy football league, so most of the morning there have been people standing around yammering about how "their" teams did over the weekend. It's very distracting, because one person, when she's excited about something, yells. Loudly. One guy - who's SOOOO busy - spent over half an hour on this. I really dislike football and it's reached the point that if I never heard another word about it I'd be happier.
{{Todd}} Sounds very horribly MONDAY like. Ick. I hope they get it together by Tuesday.
