((quester)) I hope that this was just some sort of weird mistake.

Turns out yesterday I went to work an hour early...I didn't realize because I'd written it down wrong, so I left early today and that kind of made up for it.

{{{quester}}} I'm sorry, but yeah I wouldn't be terribly surprised if they're trying to make you leave so they can raise the rent considerably. I've had it happen to me before.

I am having one of THOSE days. We just transitioned to a new database - it's a big deal because not only does it have all our member information on it, but we use it for joining, renewing, registering for educational events and a whole bunch of other stuff. The old database went down on the 6th and this one was being checked and tested and so on since then.

Today, it's all supposed to be up and running ... only it's not. The link for online registration produces a "this page can't be displayed" message. The member log in process doesn't work. They changed MY login information and didn't tell me. And I'm supposed to be working away on the website changing all the links (even though they don't seem to be working). And the person managing the transition keeps working on pages I need to edit and leaving them open so I can't access them.

And to make life complete, the guy who sits next to me runs the office fantasy football league, so most of the morning there have been people standing around yammering about how "their" teams did over the weekend. It's very distracting, because one person, when she's excited about something, yells. Loudly. One guy - who's SOOOO busy - spent over half an hour on this. I really dislike football and it's reached the point that if I never heard another word about it I'd be happier.

{{Todd}} Sounds very horribly MONDAY like. Ick. I hope they get it together by Tuesday.

I expect tomorrow to get worse.

Last day of work (at any job!) until after the new year. Just gotta get through. And I came in late and am leaving early, so…

Then I just have to run a half dozen errands, do two loads of laundry, pack, prep pet care stuff, etc etc. Someday I will get a full night's sleep before I leave town. Tonight ain't gonna be it.

My work email is not working on my computer. Only on my phone. Not helpful for getting shit done before I'm out of office tomorrow! Grr.

Since I bitch here all the time about work, I figure I should celebrate here, too. Yesterday a colleague and I fixed my former landlady's huge pocket doors. It took longer than we were hoping (ten hours) but part of that was a change order so we still got paid decently. Plus we worked well together and learned a lot, so this has potential as a niche I could get into. My boss lent me tools, and says he could help get me discounts on the tools I would need. Plus, I wouldn't need that many.

I'm so glad we were able to fix them and for the most part it was pretty enjoyable (if very dirty) work. Plus, that check will come in handy to balance out the work I am missing over the holidays. So, yay!
