Speaking of muscle pains, has anyone had a rotator cuff injury?
And further, has anyone overcome a rotator cuff injury?
My right shoulder is messed up. I'm assuming this is due to repeated yankings by the leash.
I can't extend my arm over my head and bumping it or twisting it (even tossing a pillow) causes a pain that nearly makes me see stars. When I roll over on it in the night...oy.
Every now and then, there is a pretty big click. Not sure what that means.
It doesn't hurt when my arm is by my side, so I'm hoping that the tendon isn't torn altogether.
I've tried aspirin, aleve and advil to relieve the pain, but none has really worked.
Are there prescription anti-inflammatories that might work better?
It's been months and I'm feeling a bit helpless around this.
Don't be like me.
Right? I have to remember the difference between what I do and I recommend.
Handful of pills? What handful of pills???
Seriously, only one time did a friend freak *me* out when she told me about taking meds -- she took 5 Benadryl at a time. "Well, clearly you're still alive," I said, "but that is FUCKED UP."
I'm always amused at my mom, who will call me to make sure she can take Claritin and ibuprofen together, but then cavalierly tells me how she washes down Ativan with a nice chardonnay.
My family. We are soooooo healthy when it comes to controlled substances.

Bonny, when my left shoulder was messed up, I had similar pain as your describe. At first we thought it was my rotator cuff and I did PT. Then I had an MRI and it turned out to be a messed up AC Joint which required surgery.
There are so many things going on in the shoulder that it is hard to diagnose without an MRI, at least in my experience.
My vacation was a fun balance between my normal meds and more alcohol than I normally drink. I had actually had the discussion with my doctor about what I shouldn't take if I've been drinking, so I tried to adjust accordingly.
So ... we might have fallen bass-ackwards into a house. The son of a long-time family friend emailed me tonight. They just bought a house in Chelsea and they are renting out their place here in Ypsi. Emeline and I are going to look at it tomorrow. 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, fully finished basement.
My mom, in her usually helpful self says, "You can't dick around with the money."
Sigh.
fingers crossed for you, Aims
Oh, Aims. That would be wonderful if that worked out. I'll be keeping fingers and toes crossed.
Bonny, can you get your shoulder looked at without too much trouble? That sounds like the sort of thing you don't want to let get worse and worse. Also, have you tried ice in addition to the anti-inflammatories?

oh good luck!
Suzi, I'm desperately hoping that this is not a surgery requiring injury. It could be, obviously, but I really, truly want to try anything else I might be able to do.
I probably won't be able to get an MRI until January.
I'd _really_ like to do something before then!
