[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Our wings are not tired.

{{askye}} I'm so sorry your gram is having these issues. The way my mom's cardiologist explained these things to us when Mom had issues was that it wasn't that she had 'heart disease', in Mom's case it was that she had a 95 year old heart. It isn't so much that it isn't predicted, it is that it is not unexpected. Not that it makes it any less scary and upsetting. I hope both you and Grandma have much better days today.

{{Suzi}} I hope that Kel can take the employee's attitude to heart. No doubt she is protecting Jack because she feels responsible too. All of you working together will get Jack where he feels safe.

Thanks Laura.

I'm still wide awake. Actually caught up on some school reading in addition to wandering the Internet. I just looked at my bedside table and realize why sleep had been so fraught tonight...forgot to take my nightly meds which includes a couple of tubs that help me sleep (in addition to their main purpose). Currant plan it is just get the day started and then take a nap when I can't brain anymore.

Please let today be a boring day.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Suzi, sounds like the employee knows she startled him and doesnt blame him.

{{{askye}}} ~ma to your gram

{{{Suzi}}} I'm sorry about all of this, and I'm glad the trainer is on Jack's side.

I pushed through the morning crankiness yesterday and ltc took a good 2 1/2 hour nap yesterday, and I took that time to read. It was lovely. I'm going to try to do the same today, but her schedule is going to get all messed up when we're at Mom's this week anyway.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

So I can't find the keys to the lockboxes where we keep our tools. I usually put them away as soon as I open the boxes. I always check at the end of the day before I lock the lock boxes to make sure they are where they are supposed to be.

Apparently I did neither of those things yesterday. And my boss is literally on a plane headed to California for a week and doesn't have an extra set anyway. They aren't in my work bag or my lunch bag, on my keyring, in my pockets, in the seat of my car or on the floorboards… I'm going home to check if they got in my recycling bin (long story). Can I have some finding key~ma? Otherwise, I don't know what I'm going to do. These things are designed so you can't break into them (duh); you can't access the loop of the padlock to cut it. ::sigh:: Sometimes I feel like such a hot mess.

Thanks y'all. You helped me stay as sane as possible yesterday. In addition to the lack of sleep, I have a crying hangover too. Better up the fluids intake.

Today, we just wait for the vet to call back and let me know his blood test results and then pick up his doggie Prozac (which is actually people strength - wonder if it is covered by my drug insurance, probably not).

Also have to wait to see if we hear anything from Animal Control. Sounds doubtful unless Petco has an automatic reporting process. Even then, according to the vet, since he is up on his shots, he would at most have an in home quarantine for 10 days.

Only other thing I can think of (at this point I've been thinking on this whole thing constantly for over 21 hours now) is if worker's comp would go after me for liability. Which, I have coverage, so I'm not too worried about the cost - more the hassle.

And I can't do a darned thing about any of those things for now, so I'm just trying to knock out the deadline work I need to do today (and then I'm OFF until Monday), run laundry, and then I need to hit up the grocery store for the last bit of T-day shopping. And maybe a nap. Or an edible. Or an edible AND a nap. But definitely a nap.

Lots of key~ma and non-hot-mess~ma to you smonster. May they be some place you already checked and just missed somehow.

(Last night, when it came time to pay the vet, I couldn't find my debit card. It had been in my back pocket, but it wasn't there, it wasn't anywhere in my purse, no other pockets, no where. Luckily {???} I have the number memorized so they were able to run it that way. When I turned around to leave, it was right next to me on the floor. Somehow I flipped it out of my pocket when I first went to pull it out. No clue how that happened without me feeling it.)

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

They were sitting on a table in plain sight. So now I just feel like an idiot. At least I didn't dump out my recycling bin to look for them.

I hope you can get your work done and let go of the stress a little, Suzi. It sounds like you have thought everything through and done all you can do.

Whew, glad everyone found the things they needed!!

I had a date last night which was ok (she taught me to play cribbage) but not sure that there willl be another one...no kissing. And then on the way over to a friends house after, my ex texted me out of the blue after 7 months. I haven't decided/figured out how or what to respond. Not sure what she wants. Or what I would want.
