[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Today was my first day at work since the election. I discovered that two of my colleagues, both of whom are awesome, have resigned. As they are both gay, I have to assume that's why, although I haven't had a chance to talk to them yet. Also, my boss broke up with her boyfriend of 2 years because he voted Trump, a guy I've worked with for the past year (although I can't stand) has left to join Trump's transition team, and more than one person almost started crying when talking to me about it.

This is going to be a really hard few months. Best case.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Volans, I'm so sorry. That sounds like a terribly difficult situation to go to every day.

I am so sorry Volans.

I think deep wells of coping will be needed. Or a suspension of the rule against alcohol on federal property.

I'm glad ltc is OK and you are mostly OK. I fell down the stairs with Mal once. He was fine but I broke my foot. Still worth it to not have him hurt.

Thanks, Volans. It helps to remember that these things happen to able bodied mothers as well. I've been beating myself up a lot today.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

sj, please don't beat yourself up. I know it's not the same thing, but I fell down with the puppy yesterday, and allowed her to vault herself off of the couch the first day we had her, which sprained something in her front leg.

Volans, I'm so sorry. Sometimes I miss DC like woah, and other times, I'm glad I left. I have a feeling that I'm going to be glad for the next 2-4 years.

Yeah, no, don't beat yourself up. Stuff happens and being a caring and involved mom is the thing.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Oh yeah. My mom slipped on ice holding one of us (don't remember which one) and fell, taking the impact on her hip. It happens.

To be fair-ish, I think Frankie just thinks it's okay to pee inside at this point. I don't know what to do except try to crate train him at the age of eight. I left him out last night to go hang with Nora; when I got him, M had shut him in my room (again) and left Xusha out (again) and Frankie had peed on my floor (again). This morning the living room rug (which is his) was rolled up to the side. I wonder if Xusha peed on it.

Our wings are not tired.

DH fell down the stairs with my son once. They were both fine, but he was beating himself up over it.

I'm so sorry, Volans. I honestly can't imagine how awful it must be.

smonster I am having rage issues about your housemate. That is really unacceptable.

I have a scar on my arm from when I was.. maybe ltc 's age.

Mom and Dad were leaving a party and it was raining, someone was hodling me while they went to get the car. The woman slipped on steps and jerked me up and my arm was cut on her earring.

In one version of the story the woman holding me was tipsy.

edit - the woman had metal disc earrings so the cut was pretty bad. Mom still feels guilty about it.
