I seen you without your clothes on before. Never thought I'd see you naked.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Laura, I've been through much of what your family's going through, and you have my support and love, always. I hope you can find some comfort and peace, and can lean a little on others for strength.

Hil, wishing you ease and good rest.

Vortex, is your profile addy good? I can email you pictures. When I get things sorted. And I'm so sorry about the pen! If you want to mail it to us, H can take a look at it and see if it can be mended. He's become the go-to guy for mending things. He rebuilt a neighbor's deck over the end of the summer. This evening he mended a charging connection cord for another neighbor's wheelchair. And over the weekend he took electrician's tape and a couple of binder clips and cobbled a hinge for my laptop screen--it won't close, but I can use it just fine. Plus he has a shop full of tools, from Tim Taylor "more power! Ha! Ha! Ha!" tools to tiny jeweler's and eyeglass mender's tools. No promises, but maybe something in there will work.

And Cindy, it's always good to see you.

Hey Cindy! Good to see you here.

I am awake far too early. Even if I am on the east coast. Someone was supposed to come at 730 to fix the broken hot water heater. They're now coming at 815 but it is too late for me to go back to sleep. Boo. It's cold in here. But at least the electric blanket kept me fabulously warm last night.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Okay, appointment made with Awesome Doctor for tomorrow to get back on antidepressants. I hate this.

But he's the doctor who first recognized my depression back in the day in my 20s, so he's familiar with me, my medical history (including depression), and what antidepressants I've been on and how they worked. So I at least feel good about the fact that he takes me seriously and knows his shit (for all values of "his shit" that include both internal medicine AND my medical history). And also odds are good that he'll make me laugh even if I'm crying, and that's worth its weight in gold.

I'm sort of amazed that he had an opening tomorrow (it's SUPER hard to get in, because he is on Cincinnati Magazine's list of best doctors every single year, so he gets swamped, and with good reason). Maybe this is a sign that the universe REALLY wants my ass back on antidepressants.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I hope Awesome Doctor can come up with something that works for you! I really didn't think that depression was one of my issues (or a significant enough one to worry about, anyway) but I am frequently amazed at how much of a difference this low dose of Prozac makes (and how much worse my days seem to be when I forget to take it too many days in a row...). I feel really lucky that the first thing we tried turned out to be so effective, if it hadn't or if there were nasty side effects I doubt I would be eager to try something else.

Which is all to say: go you, taking care of yourself even when it's hard.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

sj, am I misremembering that you are in the Worcester area? If you are, how do you feel about dinner on the 9th? Is vw close by too?

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I'm one town over from Worcester, and dinner would be awesome! What time were you thinking? TCG is usually home by 6, but can be home earlier with a few days notice, and ltc usually turns into a crank monster at 7:30ish. vw is about an hour away, and it might be difficult for her on a weeknight, but you can ping her on facebook and see if she can make it work. Victor and thessaly live the closest to us of the buffistas.

No idea on time yet. I'm trying to figure out if I'm flying or driving.

No worries. If it is a later dinner we can either eat here, or I could meet you somewhere and leave ltc home with TCG.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

How's the water heater coming along, meara?

Yay, Awesome Doctor! I hope he can help you get the relief you need.
