I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I knew my boss -- Jason Momoa -- would be mad at me.

It would suck to have Momoa mad at you. Or even just disappointed. I think he'd wear long sleeved shirts that hid his biceps as punishment. Good luck with the appointment this morning!

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

I hope it goes well, Steph.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Steph, I hope the therapist appointment goes well. Maybe you two should go to Starbucks in Northside the next time!

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Vortex's perfect world is also mine, if you replace coffee with tea. Although today I probably do need coffee. Mom just took ltc out. Maybe she'll come back with a latte.

I'm here for vortex's world. Though only if I then go to work at noon and leave by 5.

Thrive to spite them

I hope that you like the therapist Steph, especially since she's from Northside.

So I broke down and ordered a big and tall office chair. I was trying to make due with the one I have but it gets really uncomfortable and I start getting pins and needles in my feet and legs when I sit in it. Which is a bad sign.

I ordered the chair yesterday , expected it next Tuesday, it was here today. So that's good.

It's really big. I knew that but I didn't measure it to see how big so it's going to dominate my room. And is actually making me eye the closet as a possible way to repurpose it as "computer nook" the desk would fit in and part of the chair so it's not the perfect set up but it would give me more floor space.

Hopefully this will be more comfortable and last longer. It was at the low end of pricing and is made for someone much heavier than I am so hopefully I won't have to buy another chair for a long time.

Our wings are not tired.

A comfortable desk chair is really important. I hope the new layout idea works.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I liked the therapist, and we discovered that we live less than half a mile apart. That is so damn funny. And she may be moving her office in the near future because she hates the drive (it was fine this morning, but it's the same way to get to the airport, and sometimes the traffic just blows SO HARD because of that).

The appointment was all background-y stuff, which I knew going in. (I have to admit that I'm always, ALWAYS taken aback when I tell people our mom routinely drank a beer in the car when she drove us places and their reaction is anything other than "Yeah, doesn't everyone?" [I do realize that this is, in fact, supremely fucked up. But I really didn't know until my 20s that no, not everyone's parents drive their kids places while drinking a beer because that shit is illegal, unsafe, and stupid AF.])

I had to run home and finish some editing, and now I'm going to run errands and then take a 10-day nap. Jesus god, I'm tired.

My errands include going to Target to get the Blu-Ray of CA:CW and the fancy coffee place to get a pound of Highlander Grogg coffee (I promised Tim no pumpkin), as a reward for finally going to therapy.

Steph, I think your reaction is normal, when you are brought up to see something as normal you just assume that everyone has the same shared experience.
