Yeah, as a business owner who has to deal with payroll, I can say it's a real thorn in my side when people don't submit time cards.
I have a very simple way of seeing it. My employees expect their checks or direct deposit to arrive on time each week, therefore I expect them to submit their hours on time.
Ack! Tagline request! (See how I'm slow about things right in front of me??) Yes, totally, Shir. It's pretty much always a "go ahead and tag."
Huh. This might explain it. Last few weeks, been working on the New Swan Theater (our "portable" 15 ton outdoor summer Shakespeare theater). And I really dislike it, as it drains the energy from me, and it's on the other side of campus. Well, the Master Electrician brought his laser temperature reader yesterday. The ambient temperature was 77ºF. The floor of the theater (particle board shellacked within an inch of it's life), with the mid-day sun beating on it, measured 168ºF. Yeah. It's an oven. That explains why on the big load in day, I drank over 2 liters of water, but only pissed once. I feel better in knowing why I'm so tired. But still don't want to go over there to finish the last of the notes.
Wine, wine, wine. We are on our third tasting. Already have 8 bottles of wine in the car - gratis from a friend in the industry.
That's a nice friend, Suzi
Oh and also from a ways back--stink bombs at pride? How awful and juvenile and assholic. Jeez.
with our Props person leaving, it looks like I'm the "go-to-guy" for the boss to call to vent. Must remember to just listen. He's not looking for solutions.
Well done, Omnis. Good for you for remembering to listen rather than trying to troubleshoot. It's such a hard lesson to learn (for me, at least).
Yay free wine, Suzi!
Also, the pup was adopted this afternoon by a wonderful family, so we are officially foster follow-throughs (instead of foster failures, which is what we were for Newton!). She was a cute little bug, but a ton of work. Very happy she's found a loving home.
