This isn't a come-on. I'm in a very serious relationship with a landscape architect.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Hamilton thoughts and nit sure where to put them so its here.

I'm nit really that familiar with Broadway musicals so I don't know if this is common but I loved the repetition of phrases not just in the dame song but how certain things would work their way into different characters songs. Unless I'm totally confused and mixing up characters.

But I liked the patterns from the use of words and phrases. And I felt sympathetic towards Aaron Burr by the second listening. I don't know if he should and I don't know his actual reaction to shooting Hamilton.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Burr is totally a sympathetic character --- some people find him more so than Hamilton (I don't, necessarily, but I can see it). Don't think of them as good guy/bad guy --- it's really more, two people with a lot in common, but a few differences in circumstances and temperament put them on increasingly antagonistic paths whether they wanted to be there or not.

It's fucking heartbreaking all around. (In such a good way).

And yes, the whole thing of repeating bits and snippets across different songs is a classic trick, and very few shows do it quite as well as this one.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Musically, those kind of themes are called leitmotifs. They're most associated with opera.

Word-wise, I associate that kind of repetition and wordplay with Sondheim. The different ways Angelica uses "satisfied" or Eliza uses "helpless" or Burr uses "wait".

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

My cat Jonathan is at the vet today - getting an ultra sound - that is a base line - because he has chronic low grade pancreatitis.

Things are going as expected. I should be able to get him soon. But, I 'm at low -level panic. Turns out All the feeling from two and half years of taking Nathaniel to vet - waiting for news good and bad have all hit me today.

not my favorite way to feel

So I'm finally in Florida and yesterday Dad was here to make sure things like the AC worked.

They did.

Today no ac. It's 81 in the house I'm sweaty from pulling stuff out of the car. Grumpy because I forgit to get diet cokes and watermelon. And I swear I can feel my feet swelling. The diet cokes don't help that I'm going to make tea.

And get a shower.

Last night I made OriginAL cast recording of Sweeney Todd offline on Spotify.

I want to look at Genius for Ham lyrics but I found it too awkward on the phone.

I don't think Burr is more sympathetic than Hamilton but his frustration and longing at being shut out us very ...relatable. Especially when Hamilton is doing things the 'wrong" (loudly declaring his feelings).

And Alexander seriously you aired your dirty laundry about your mistress, shamed your wife and thought Angelica's would understand you? Fool.

Our wings are not tired.

Awww, Beth. You are a wonderful kitty mom. Sorry the vet visit is so stressful.

Thanks all. Today was a much better day than the last couple. No issues at all and I forced myself to take breaks from working. It really scared me to have the auras after almost 2-1/2 years. Scared me into behaving.
