When we landed here you said you needed a few days to get space worthy again and is there somethin' wrong with your bunk?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Cindy, I'm ready to circle the wagons around you. Any thing the least bit useful I can do, say the word.

Andi, that is an ita quality link, there. I'm scarred for life.

Cyberstalking is scary-ass shit, Cindy; I hope the person buggers off and gets sucked into a intertubes garbage disposal.

I'm sad to see so many people struggling with depression, but OTOH, it makes me feel right at home and comfortable here, since it makes me just "one of us", which is actually quite comforting. It makes it easier to let go of the "bad, wrong, lazy, stupid" thoughts that eat away at the ego and self-confidence. Thanks for being here and being honest; it gives me something to strive for.

Everyone here is fine, but there really needs to be a rule that there's no drama until I've at least had my second cuppa and can reasonably handle the drama. After I fed ltc this morning I left her nomming on her bamboo bowl like every morning while I grabbed a face cloth to wash her up, and when I came back a minute later the bowl was on the floor with a chunk missing. Logically, I knew that it probably broke when it hit the floor, but it took me forever to find that chunk, which had skittered underneath the hope chest, while panicking that she had somehow managed to swallow the shard in the minute I was gone. Sigh.

Well, sj, that'll get the adrenaline going.

Yeah. ltc is napping now, and I'm finally having my second cuppa.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

How long has it been since we all looked at furniture porn together?

ahaha Patty O'Furniture ! I needed that stupid joke this morning.

Cindy, may lawyers ruin his life, far the fuck away from you.

So I saw the new doctor this morning. He did take time to listen. I'm scheduled for a bunch of referrals, to an endocrinologist and a sleep study AND a mindfulness seminar, and he suggests I try yoga. I was not expecting that. It's way better than the conveyor belt of most doctor's practices. He said UVA had put a lot of money into creating a holistic practice that was meant to treat the whole person, so that's good. Another good thing, when you're part of UVA's system, the practices you're referred to call you to schedule appointments, and your information is already there and goes with you. I'm not feeling exactly hopeful -- actually I'm filled with annoyance this morning -- but at least he listened.

Oh, and the doctor is overweight himself, so I didn't get any Judgey McJudgeface crap about how all my problems would be fixed if I just lost some weight.

(UVA is the University of Virginia Healthcare system.)
