Coffee (which I need desperately):
I got up first thing to drive the adorable puppy we are fostering to the vet in Malibu to get spayed. On the way there, she pooped ALL over the inside of the crate. I stopped to try to clean the crate out, and the side of the road was infested with ants, which proceeded to climb all over both me and the pup. I drove a round trip of 2+ hours with poop and ants. And that is why we call it charity work!
Ack.
I just called CVS to deal with some prescription issues (for all their commercials about how you can get your prescriptions anywhere, it is an enormous pain when you want to switch back to getting them at your usual pharmacy once vacation is over), and they didn't ask for my name, just my date of birth. I guess I'm the only person with that birth date to get prescriptions at this CVS?

Or they recognise you somehow else but need you to still do the security dance. Wouldn't the birthday problem apply here?
What CVS doesn't make clear is that you can only move a prescription x number of times, where x is an odd number. Well, that was true when I used to go there. Walgreens has not capped me yet for switching between near work and home and that other one.
Hil, I'd guess they pulled your record based on your phone number automatically, and asked for birthdate for security. (Signed, looks up people's library card accounts fairly often now.)
Ack, is right, Pix.
P-C, that is really lovely.
Shit I can't actually stay out loud to relatives: So, when we're in your area if we don't stay at your home, you'll never speak to us again, but when you're here, you cannot find an hour out of your busy schedule to see our house?
Oh sj, say it. Seriously, odds are they haven't even realized. Or maybe I just have an iron hide and wouldn't care if they never spoke to me again if they couldn't be bothered to accept my hospitality.
I'm in a mean and cranky mood today, though. So a whole damn saltshaker is definitely indicated.
I do have enough empathy to feel for Pix and puppy, though. Poor you, and poor wee doggy. NSM the ants.
P-C, it is lovely, and thank you for sharing it with us.
Tea:
