Careful with the glaze if you have dark hair. I've gotten a glaze before, and it just made my hair slightly shinier. Nice, but no real lasting difference.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

And twice a year, do you feel awesome?

Pretty much yep, because I'm shallow I guess. Good color, good cut, good blow dry twice a year is worth it to me.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Good point, Vortex. Even on my hair, which takes color pretty well, the color deposit was equivalent to 20 mins of a good color depositing masque like Aveda. It did make it nice and shiny

Burrell, I don't think it makes you shallow at all. If you look good, you feel better, in my experience. It's just doing something nice for yourself, and lord knows most of us could use more "be nice to yourself." In so many ways.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

My hair is very dark naturally, and I also found the glazes were only good for shine and texture but not really for color.

I got my color done right before this past Christmas for the first time in over a year. I just couldn't deal with the smell and the hassle when I was pregnant. I went back to a colorist I had stopped going to because he was so pricey, but I really feel like I needed a treat post baby. Now my roots are showing, and I don't know if I should spend the money.

Thrive to spite them

I got my hair cut and I like it. I went to super cuts and was surprised at how well she did. I may even take current pictures of myself (even though I've gained another pound).

I want to color it but I can't afford the upkeep and I've tried home coloring and it... does not turn out well.

But I feel better with the hair cut so that's good.

And in other news - mice are in the house. WE forgot to put some bird seedI brought with me in a container and they found it. Last night mom's cat Lovey and Penny (my cat) found the mice. Or found one twice. Penny was the winner and ended up in my room with a mouse in her mouth, I chased her around and picked her and thoughtI opened the door and shook the mouse outside but it was dark and I didn't have my glasses on. The second time (or second mouse) I grabbed her but she didn't have a good hold and the mouse ran under the couch and I just gave up trying to find it. The fact it ran made me think it was another mouse and not as injured.

We haven't found a mouse body today so I don't know what happened.

I had a colorist who would do a great semi-perm color that gradually washed out. I could get it redone if I wanted/was willing to spend the money, but since it faded gently, I never got roots.

I've never actually had my hair colored in a salon--I've been dyeing it off and on since I was 13, but always box dye (except for the once when I used the manic panic and bleach! Which I believe was with Plei's instructions long distance!)

I occasionally consider it but don't think I could stomach the price! Maybe if/when I have more greys and need fancy help.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Everything hurts and I can't sleep and I really want to quit my job. Like, just not go in tomorrow. This message brought to you by the Sunday Night Dreads and the letters P, M, and S.

Update: shit is less dire this morning. But lord, I will be tired today.

Our wings are not tired.

I do hope that things are much better by day's end, smonster.
