And Kaylee, what the hell's goin' on in the engine room? Were there monkeys? Some terrifying space monkeys maybe got loose?

Our wings are not tired.

This reminds me of Calvin's dad in Calvin and Hobbes.

Awesome! I had a lot of bed rest with I was carrying #1 son and read several volumes of Calvin and Hobbes. The best stuff. It may have had an influence on my parenting behavior.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Ah, that makes more sense, Burrell. And twice a year, do you feel awesome? Because if you do and you can afford it, then yay.

If not, well...

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

I've been growing mine out. I have quite a bit of white at the temples and in my bangs. It is hard to tell how much until it all grows out.

Me too. Well, I got my hair chopped short about a month ago. Really short in back and to my chin in front. I haven't colored it in about 4 months, so except for the last few inches in the front, the rest is "natural". I have the same - white at the temples and then minor strands here and there.

I finally bought my outfit for the 100th birthday party in a couple of weeks. This skirt and top look pretty cute together. Plus not so formal that I can't wear it for work and such.

Bonus - the skirt has POCKETS!

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

it was so luxurious having someone else do the back!

The only thing holding me back is the cost. I know I'll want the full length of my hair done the first time, and it goes past my waist.

Suzi, that's very pretty! I have one dress with pockets, and I love it!

Jilli, that's a lot of hair! But I get you on the cost; that's the reason I've been DIYng mine forever.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Careful with the glaze if you have dark hair. I've gotten a glaze before, and it just made my hair slightly shinier. Nice, but no real lasting difference.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

And twice a year, do you feel awesome?

Pretty much yep, because I'm shallow I guess. Good color, good cut, good blow dry twice a year is worth it to me.

Good point, Vortex. Even on my hair, which takes color pretty well, the color deposit was equivalent to 20 mins of a good color depositing masque like Aveda. It did make it nice and shiny

Burrell, I don't think it makes you shallow at all. If you look good, you feel better, in my experience. It's just doing something nice for yourself, and lord knows most of us could use more "be nice to yourself." In so many ways.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

My hair is very dark naturally, and I also found the glazes were only good for shine and texture but not really for color.

I got my color done right before this past Christmas for the first time in over a year. I just couldn't deal with the smell and the hassle when I was pregnant. I went back to a colorist I had stopped going to because he was so pricey, but I really feel like I needed a treat post baby. Now my roots are showing, and I don't know if I should spend the money.

Thrive to spite them

I got my hair cut and I like it. I went to super cuts and was surprised at how well she did. I may even take current pictures of myself (even though I've gained another pound).

I want to color it but I can't afford the upkeep and I've tried home coloring and it... does not turn out well.

But I feel better with the hair cut so that's good.

And in other news - mice are in the house. WE forgot to put some bird seedI brought with me in a container and they found it. Last night mom's cat Lovey and Penny (my cat) found the mice. Or found one twice. Penny was the winner and ended up in my room with a mouse in her mouth, I chased her around and picked her and thoughtI opened the door and shook the mouse outside but it was dark and I didn't have my glasses on. The second time (or second mouse) I grabbed her but she didn't have a good hold and the mouse ran under the couch and I just gave up trying to find it. The fact it ran made me think it was another mouse and not as injured.

We haven't found a mouse body today so I don't know what happened.
