Agree. You might throw a tsp of baking powder in if you think it warranted. But probably not even necessary.
Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Great. It's in the oven. So, we'll see.
Ow. Icy sidewalks and unstable joints are a really bad combination. I didn't fall, but my ankles and knees are seriously not happy with me.
I'm sorry, Hil. Feel better.
The cornbread came out excellent, and just as fluffy as normal. I make it with melted butter instead of the oil it calls for. The chili was also delicious. The rice nsm. I'm terrible at making rice.
now I want cornbread
We have a baby Rival rice cooker that H bought at Target that we love. It cooks rice perfectly every time. It also has a steamer basket if we want to throw vegetables in there while the rice cooks. No more boiling over foamy pans, or gritty undercooked rice. I feel so spoiled every time we use it.
Does it work with brown rice too?
Yes, it does! You put in twice the water as rice--white or brown--and it cooks until the rice is perfectly done. You don't even set a timer. Seriously, I love rice, and it's never spoiled and never messy with this. Looking at Target ads, the 6-cup Aroma cooker is closest to the one we have.
I always use a rice cooker. It just makes things so much easier. And yes, it works with brown rice. One cup rice, two cups water, press the button, and perfect rice about 45 minutes later.
I love our rice cooker, makes things so much easier
