Ok, see, this is why I have you people! So that shot is the other side, so lemme get one that's more head on so we're comparing apples to apples. Ignore the bloodshot, it's been a rough couple of days. [link]
The only one where you can see both brows in that March photoshoot is the fuck you shot, so forgive the attitude: [link] You might need to zoom for the comparison, or I could crop it. Maybe I should crop it. Here: [link]
So, what I was trying to do was the thing where you draw a line from the nose to the pupil to the tip of the arch. Although, I experienced some confusion about whether that meant the tip of the nose or the side of the nose and/or the outside edge of the pupil, etc. And I think because my eyes are so small and my brows so heavy maybe that advice isn't quite right.
So if I aim for 3/4's the width of the eye, I'd have to play with where it actually does go back down, I think. Which I think maybe would work now that the overall brow is thinner. Ok, I'll mess around with that next.
Thanks, Bev!
And sorry for clogging up the thread! If I had local girlfriends and/or aestheticians, I could work this out here, but I need y'all! Still amused that I'm learning how to do this at forty, but hey.
I have no opinion about brows. I DO have opinions about expensive but oh-so-worth-it flip flops. I love love love my Sanuks. They're made out of the same material as yoga mats, and a $45 pair will easily last me a year or two.

See, I don't think the high point of your arch is too far to the side. I like it.
I actually like it, too, but it is less "natural." This is making me want to clean up my scraggly brows. Having bangs means I kind of forget about them for long periods.
I think I mostly just love the intensity of the old "fuck you" photos!
It was a really fun shoot. My former traveling music school student did it. He was a student in the community college's photography classes, but has since (just now!) moved on to the Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara to further his studies. There are some prettier and more conventional shots in the batch, but we did also really have fun. It was the first time he'd earned money doing photography and afterward he posted on fb that he'd enjoyed the session and it made him start to think maybe he could do this as a career.
Just looked at pic -- you're so gorgeous!
Yes! I got all concentrated on the technical angles and things I forgot how gorgeous the forest is. I love the fuck you shot! And I love where the curve of your brows fall in that one. I'd use a pencil to make the line on the outside edge just a bit denser and longer, and leave the peak and the curve underneath as it is.
Aww, y'all are good for the ego, especially when I came looking for advice to fix me!
(how do you shoot a .... OH)
