I'm going to see to Wesley, see if he's still whimpering.

Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

also I found the worst part of the actual root canal was the jaw pain from keeping your mouth open so long.

Ooh, good point. Thank you.

smonster, I'm sorry. That really hurts.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Damn, smonster that sucks. I'm sorry.

Laura, definitely rest. That's what I'm doing today, and my tummy is only a little raw from all the upset yesterday. Mom is here for a few hours. So, she took ltc out so I could take an extra long shower and rest.

Shir, good luck. I don't have any podcast/audiobook suggestions. Sorry.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Laura and amyth, rest and heal, both of you!

smonster, that really does suck, I'm sorry. Sure it's the boss's right to fire someone for being late, but taking it personally to the point of calling your lateness a slap in his face is... not his right, and not right.

And Shir, good luck. Try to get the dentist to give you breaks so you can close your jaw and rest the joint a bit.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I'm sorry, smonster.

Shir, I'm fond of Kevin and Ursula Eat Cheap--a podcast where a couple get cheap food and drink and rate them. At least, it started off that way. Now people are sending them things from around the world, like silk worm pupae and lutefisk. And they rate booze as well as food. There's a solid chance that one or both will be drunk at the end of the podcast. [link] It might be a little too funny for the dentist chair, actually.

hip deep in pie

I've just discovered Lore, which talks about the origins of common folklore. It's creepy without being too melodramatic. The episodes are usually between 15-30 minutes.

And I had a root canal this summer and it wasn't nearly as bad as I feared, and I am hugely anxious in the dentist's chair.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I have a friend (the same one who's been fighting an undiagnosable digestive condition for months) who's asking for specific probiotics recommendations. Anyone have suggestions?

Florastor is a bit expensive but pretty good. I also like the Pearls brand.

Looks like there are a few types of Pearls -- any one in particular? And thank you.

I used the Pearls IC for 2-3 months when my GI tract was jacked up. That formulation has more strains of probiotic bacteria in it, so it seemed like it would be more helpful when things are actively jacked up. And it definitely did help.
