I asked she agreed I don't want to go anywhere on Black Friday. Really.
AnD I feel horrible but 2 full days of my nephew is more than I can handle. It's not him just me nit used to being around people and the severe lack of soundproofing in the house.
I'm glad to be here but it's an adjustment. I already took extra klonopin and I don't think I can take any more without being so sleepy I'm incoherent.
Oh I need a computer chair maybe I'll go to habitat for humanity tomorrow
Well, I've had worse, but I've had better.
Their housemate can cook, though, which is good.
OMG, stepmonster's taste is UGLY...I can't believe thirteen-year-old me ever found her to be a style mentor--they live inside a green wedding mint.
I think half-brother made use of his marijuana card this morning(Not that I totally blame him, exactly, but he looked fucked-up today, and, like the sum total of my experience is concerts, contact highs, and Pelecanos novels.(if I noticed, the world can)..if I did that, even now, without a future to toss away, I'd have to have everyone at the dinner extracted from my ass. Really?)
Now my mother is "concerned" because she thinks I'm too sympathetic with "the Muslims" and therefore don't care enough about Israel.
Oh, and she had no idea that the West Bank is not legally part of Israel.
Only someone too sympathetic to The Muslims would know that.
"The Muslims" that I was expressing sympathy for in that conversation weren't even Palestinian.
We had a low key Thanksgiving because I didn't plan anything until the day before. But I cooked lots of good stuff, except the carrot/ginger soup which was just plain awful. I will let all know that I am doing it up big for Christmas because I do enjoy all the cooking and fuss. I missed having a crowd yesterday.
The conversation above reminds me that I need to check in on FB. I took a few days off, but might be ready to rabble-rouse again. I did jump on a step-brother for putting up some racist bs from Trump, and he took it right down.
eta: just looked and 96 notifications..
We also had a low key Thanksgiving, over at EM's house. Emmett was a butt for about an hour but got over it. Otherwise Matilda was happy to wallow around in his presence and spend the night there.
EM brought Matilda, all the turkey, the roasting pan and most of the leftovers over this morning. I cut Emmett's hair and he went back to school with his mom (Matilda clinging to his leg and crying as he left). But I've deglazed the roasting pan with brandy and made some homemade gravy, and now I've got the carcass and herbs and onions boiling away making stock. I do love the smell of a stock pot in November.
I have a car. With help from Dad. The first place was ugh...second place had more cars to drive and I have a 2009 Honda Fit. Low mileage. DaD is helping but the payments will be doable and the people were nice. Didn't have to go to the tag office or anything. Dad is thinking about buying a car from them.
