Spike: I'm not a monster. Xander: Yes! You are a monster. Vampires are monsters! They make monster movies about them! Spike: Well, yeah. Got me there.

'Dirty Girls'

Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Our wings are not tired

I worked a 13.5 hour day today that started at 6 AM.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Ugh ND, hope you get a chance to just unwind and go to bed early.

I hope you get to destress too, askye. Moving is hard.

Geez ND. I hope that at least at some point here your business is able to have enough people who are good enough to take some of the burden off you. :(

I was contemplating going dancing but it is POURING outside and I decided I didn't want to leave the house.

Glad you were able to eat inside, Teppy.

Our wings are not tired.

I did a lower number of hours than usual adulting yesterday. Did office stuff, unpacked several boxes of kitchen stuff, house chores. But but but, I lounged in bed and watched several hours of recorded tv! It was like a mini vacation.

Today is more worky, but I hope to have a little down time as well.

My mom has bronchitis and although always a concern at her age, I am more upset with my sister. For the last year or so she has become unbelievably intolerant of everyone. Everyone is wrong about everything and she of course knows all. I have said about a billion times that adults get to make their own decisions and she needs to back the hell off. She has stormed out of my mom's house several times recently because she thinks she and my step-dad should do things differently. Seriously, Mom is 94, she clearly has made some okay health decisions. If Mom lives to 112 my sister will blame step-dad for killing her. And Mom and the rest of us have somehow managed not to go off on her about her lifestyle, which is significantly unhealthier. Family!!

Thrive to spite them

We stopped for gas and out of the blue Mom asks "Do you want to go by Skye?" It's my middle name and over the decades I've tried to figure out if I wanted to be called that and how to start.

I sort of do but it seems kinda weird.

Any thoughts?

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Progress is good, Connie! It's funny how physical states can affect emotional states without us even being aware of it sometimes.

askye, I started going by my middle name when I went to college. It felt weird at first but it quickly got to where it felt like my name. Some people who'd known me before adjusted with no problem, and some refused to even try, but new people knew me as Elizabeth, and eventually that was just my name. So, try it out and see how it feels to be called Skye. If it feels like it fits, just tell everyone that's your name now and be prepared for people to forget a lot. Also, I highly recommend making sure your official name is the same on all your official documents and bills. I had trouble getting my driver's license in Virginia because my NJ license said Leone Elizabeth but all of my mail was coming to Elizabeth. For real. Back in the 80s no one cared, but man, they care now.

I meant to go by my middle name in college. And then forgot and introduced myself with my first name to the first 50 people I met. Oh well.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I tried on different names for a while. When I went away to camp for a week, I wanted to tell everyone my name was Leah, but the first person misheard me and thought I said Lee, and I was too shy to correct her (I was lying, after all), so I was Lee all week.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

My best friend from HS went to my college and he introduced me to people by my HS nickname ("Rock"), and consequently that's what everybody from my college calls me to this day.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

I like Skye, I say give it a try.

Rock is an excellent nickname!

I would never go by my middle name, Ruth, because it was my mother's name.

Most people know me as Toni and don't realize it's just a nickname for Antonia.
