Argh. My computer has been on its last legs for a while, and I think it's now had it. It won't start up, and I tried all the suggestions I could find, and nothing worked. So, probably need to buy a new computer. Also sinuses hurt like hell, and ankle is starting to hurt, and I'm going to be paying off this credit card bill and paying back what I borrowed from my parents forever, and this is just not a good day.

I say this because I know you all understand: FUCK YOU, SINUSES.

My parents said they get me a new computer as a birthday and Chanukah present. So, that's one thing I don't need to worry about.

I did something to my knee. Well actually several years ago I twisted my knee getting out of the car and it hurt but then stopped so I never had it looked at. Occasionally it will start hurting me again. Like today.

At some point I need to have it checked out. But not right now. Unless it keeps hurting. I can't use an Ace knee brace, at least the last time I tried the largest size I could find it was still too small. I'll again tomorrow though.

I don't even have anything to take for the pain because I'm out of OTC pain killers and keep meaning to get some but then forget.

Ugh, askye. Would ice help, maybe?

I'm going to go tomorrow to the computer store on campus, since I get a faculty discount there, and get the new computer and put it on the credit card that I have that my parents pay for. (I almost never use that card, but my mom likes for me to have it in case of emergencies.)

Hil, I'm glad your parents are able to help you out.

I had my baby shower today. It was very nice, and I got a ridiculous amount of gifts. I mostly got clothes rather than items from my registry. ltc is going to be the best dressed baby ever.

I'm a side sleeper and normally that's not an issue -- except when I need to keep my leg elevated/propped up. Which is what I needed to do last night. I tried. But I finally gave up and wedged a pillow between my knees and tried to sleep on my side.

Woke up thinking I wasn't in pain until I started moving around and bent over. It doesn't hurt as bad as yesterday but I also managed to get a crick in my neck/shoulders so I called out. Hey not for anxiety or mental health! which sucks but still.

At some point I'm going to hobble myself down to a pharmacy and buy OTC pain killers and see if I can find a knee sleeve/brace thing that will fit.

I'll go to therapy but that means going up a steep flight of stairs (therapists office is in a converted Victorian home. At least I think it's Victorain. It was a house and isn't Colonial style). That will not be fun. I'm sitting in bed with the Chromebook and have my leg elevated, which seems to help.

TCG had to change her diaper in the car for the first time

My little two-door SAAB coupe was not very useful for diaper changes. It was bad enough crawling into the cramped back seat to strap the twins into car seats (a process we call "Daddy Yoga" in my family). There was no room left for diaper changes.

So I set up a diaper changing station in the trunk. I could be found on any street, with the trunk lid open and two boys inside, one boy peering over the tail lights and waving at passers-by as I changed the other one.

It wasn't unusual to hear people behind me taking a cell phone picture, and I was always worried that I would find myself on the cover of Time with a caption like "The New American Dad."

We had a special new baby-backpack which came out with a folding pad that we could put Emmett on while we changed him.

We used that thing all the time, most frequently in GG Park, but once in the men's bathroom at Best Buy in Fremont. (Which did not have a changing station.)
