I love the look on babies' faces when every single thing they see is new.
I'm not one one to make arguments based on what is "natural," but this business of isolating children from the rest of the world is very new in human history. I have a cousin whose wife seems to be increasingly isolating their two little ones from all but a few people and from gluten, peanuts and a variety of other worldly "evils," real or Gwyneth Paltrow created. This does not strike me as a good thing.
I'm sure my mother would like it if I kept ltc at home until she is baptized, but since I have no idea when or where that is going to happen, that's not really an option.
It's amazing the superstitions that surround new little people.
sj, are there good and/or effective physical adapters available to assist you when you're out with ltc alone in the future?
Also, tragically, your baby may like some shit one week, but like different shit the next week. I distinctly remember the "goddamnit, she's moved the goalposts on us!" feeling.
There isn't really adaptive stuff out there. If I'm by myself I'll be pushing the stroller instead of using the crutches. Although that won't be an issue for a few more weeks because I'm not cleared to drive yet.
Yay, ltc stories and hope the sleep thing gets better!
{{{{Maria and family}}}}} I just don't know what else to say.
Epic, I'm glad things are getting better for you and your mom's situation. I know it won't get "easy" but every little thing helps.
Hil, I hope your shoulder gets to feeling better. Body aches suck!
Sail, I hope you can find help for your son. That situation seem mightily fucked up!
I feel like I only come in here occasionally, but it's always good to see everyone's pixels. I was feeling a bit down myself, but now I feel all protective and righteously angry by turns.
ltc had an explosive diaper tonight that made such a sound that it startled both TCG and I awake. Now she's having trouble settling back down.
