Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

sj, expect that the advice will sometimes conflict, but you'll figure out what works for you. I don't think she'll keep the opposite schedule for long, especially once she's ready to go out and about when you do. For now, I'd nap when she lets you, and try to gently impose a desirable schedule by encouraging X amount of activity in the morning (for levels of activity that include things like changing diapers and blowing raspberries with mommy) and X amount of quiet/nap time in the afternoons.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

I love you all. You make me smile.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

Oh, thank the Lord, it turns out that Mom's time at rehab should count towards the 20 day "elimination" period with the Home Health Insurance. I'll be paying out of pocket (well Mom's Discover card), but we can anticipate reimbursement for most, if not all, of what we pay these first days. Such a huge relief.

I'm bringing her home this afternoon, meeting with the Nurse Coordinator we chose for Home Assessment and, assuming nothing goes wrong, having someone start Monday morning (I'm taking a vacation day to be there), then they'll be on their own starting Tuesday morning.

And someone left a note on my desk yesterday with $50, unsigned, just said to "help with mom's expenses" and "I've been there". So crying at my desk for a good thing for a change.

sj, loving the ltc stories, though I hope she cuts you a break soon. (I've been reading Toby Daye stories lately, can't help but wonder if maybe ltc's got a little bit of fae...)

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Such a relief, Epic, I'm so glad.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I'm so relieved for you, Epic.

What a weight off your shoulders, Epic. And blessings on the head of unkown coworker.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

That is wonderful news, Epic.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

That's great news, Epic.

My shoulder is still hurting like hell, and it's swollen and feels hot. And it's my right shoulder, not my left like usual, so I can't rest it too well, since I'm right-handed and really bad at doing anything with my left hand.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

That's good, Epic.
