Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Finished half my trip today, and stopped along the way to see the site where the lake and dam that flooded Johnstown used to be (the remnants of the dam are still there), and the Flight 93 Memorial (which is mostly just a field right now -- they haven't finished it yet), and Fallingwater. Note to anyone planning on visiting Fallingwater: don't depend on road signs to get you there. There are practically none. The site was gorgeous, though. I didn't go inside the house -- you've got to do the full tour if you want to go inside at all, and I didn't think I could handle all the stairs.

Now I'm in Morgantown, WV, for the night. Then driving to Cincinnati tomorrow. And then my stuff will get there on Wednesday.

Our wings are not tired.

FWIW, I was more impressed with the external views of Fallingwater than the interior. Smooth travel wishes for tomorrow.

Nice capelet!

Always Anti-fascist!

Everything in their catalog isn't "Rhiannony", Connie. I have several of their outfits and a little of that goes a long way for me.Now I just need somewhere to wear it.

brillig

I have a secret yen to wear all the "Rhiannony" stuff. But now that I know their sizes to include me, maybe I can find something that will semi-soothe my longing for 80's floof and frills.

edit: some of those coats would go so nicely with jeans and a tank top this fall . . . I do not have room for an entire new wardrobe, I don't, I don't, I don't.

I think it looks great in the catalog, or on others. And I do have a flouncy blouse or two...it's just that a. I have a very unfancy life, which leads to a lot of nice clothes guarding my closet. and 2. Fair or not, I feel that I walk a fine line between "Style statement" and "SPED that does not know how to dress"(all of my campaign swag is a separate topic, but I have enough that I could get run out of town for letting the laundry pile up)

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

A coworker is pregnant and looking for leads on plus-size (18-20) maternity clothes. She mentioned maybe doing lots of regular plus-size tunics or mini-dresses over leggings. She will want fleece-lined leggings for these MN winters, kid's due in March. I told her I would poke around to see if I could find anything for her. I've already pointed her to eShakti and Holy Clothing for tops. I figured it would be worth asking here, is there anywhere else I can point her to?

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

WS, I have found plus size maternity clothes very difficult to find. I can suggest old navy's website as well as zulily.

Ok, thanks, sj.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Jilli - not sure whether gold is in your acceptable color palette, but if so, this capelet (on sale!) really seems like it ought to belong to you.

Ooooh. If it's still available and on sale when I get home from vending at the event I'm at today, I may get it. Despite my automatic eye-rolling at "Laurie Cabot" branded stuff.

Dammit! It looks like they've finally sold out of the black beaded "widow" collar/shawl.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Pyramid is hit or miss in quality, but I got a great skirt and one of my favorite shirts from there. Unfortunately they don't give you a prepaid return label, so returns require a trip to the post office. It's good to have a place that offers plus size clothing that isn't boring.
