[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Imma stop wishing things, it only made it worse. Sheesh, sj.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Thanks guys. Mom and I both tried to pretend our sparkling water at lunch was alcohol. The prescription is being transferred. We're at the laundromat running the load that was I the wash. Sears is coming tomorrow morning for our thankfully still under warranty washer. But just to prove that I probably did fall through a wormhole today, I just received a birthday card from my mother in law who hasn't spoken to me in nearly 3 years. I think maybe she wants to be able to see her granddaughter after she's born.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Of course she does. Grandchildren trump everything. I had a friend whose dad was Jewish and her mom was not. When they married in the early 60s, his entire family cut him off. He was dead to them. Eight years later, when they had my friend, suddenly the entire extended family accepted the marriage.

Yeah I'm not sure how to just pretend she didn't say horrible things about me and my family. I guess I'll figure it out.

Mom is going to the market for me while I rest.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

From experience, sj, don't try to rehash, make excuses for, or explain anything. If TCG is okay with his mom being in your family circle, start from zero, today, and go all new.

Believe me, it's hard at first, but it can be done. In our case it worked, we all became close, the kids had amazing grandparents. Good luck.

This situation might prove to be slightly more difficult, but we'll do what we can.

Thrive to spite them

sj I don't have any advice about your MIL other than to say we're here for you.

So I had the best day at work today so far. No ear ache and except for having to completely reset an area and get behind in another I did okay. The day went by really fast and it was only the last 30 minutes I was ready to go home.

Partly it's the heat. I can feel my feet and legs swelling from the peripheral edema I get at times. The way to deal with it is don't walk or stand too much and don't sit down too much. When you do sit keep your feet elevated.

I also need to cut back on the salty foods and drink more water. I'm going to try and get some of those freezeable fake ice cubes. The water tastes bad so I drink bottled (I buy gallons and then use a water bottle) but I always forget to put the water back in the fridge. I'm hoping having the freezeable ice cubes will help keep the wawter cold which will make me want to drink more.
