I just think it's rather odd that a nation that prides itself on its virility should feel compelled to strap on forty pounds of protective gear just in order to play rugby.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Maybe more of an ice cream soda kind of thing.

Thrive to spite them

My ear hurt so bad earlier. I took something for the pain and put hot compress on it and took a tiny nap. Finally the pain has kind of gone away. It doesn't help that my shoulder on the right hurts too, but I think that's from overdoing things at work yesterday.

I did manage to wash some dishes and make a rather sad dinner. I cooked some chicken and kale (for something green) and some instant rice. then poured a can of chicken and corn chowder over the chicken and stirred in the rice and let some of the liquid cook off and called it a stove top casserole. Wish I had some cheese.

It's actually not half bad.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Try lemon sorbet (or similar flavor) with ice cold Prosecco poured over it. I'm not sure about the chocolate flavors.

Oh, I've tried it with sherbet, too.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Prosecco and peach sorbet! It's like a Bellini.

Prosecco and raspberry sorbet!

Calli, that sounds good or maybe some blood orange sorbet.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

So, once my brother an I left home, my parents sort of adopted some stray people from church. One of whom is a sophomore in high school who is/was part of the after school program, and was mentored during confirmation by the guy my dad mentored. She's pretty much the only functional member of her family (they were without a fridge for about a month, and their power got turned off last winter, to give an idea).

A couple of months ago, she was all excited because her mom said they could get a puppy. Today, she texted Dad to say that they had to get rid of the puppy and would we take her.

So, now there is once again a third dog. Her name actually works in the naming system. All the critters have Tolkein names, and she was Belladonna. Rosie is excited because she has a puppy (even if the puppy isn't very much fun yet). She manifested a dog by force of will before (like, getting out of the shower one morning: unknown dog!), but we returned him to his people 20 miles away.

Hopefully, Bella will settle in before next Friday, as the rest of the family is coming to visit for a week when I move back to Hawaii (I don't know that doing this at the same time I'm re-arriving and figuring shit out is the best plan, but whatever).

The best bit is that we didn't tell my brother, so when he gets home after work (in a couple hours) he may or may not notice the second blond dog. If not, it will, presumably be tomorrow morning. Although, maybe we'll take bets.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Waiting with bated breath for Skippy's reaction to the new blonde dog!

Woe to the fucking wicked.

He got in and did not notice her last nights. He may not be up for another couple hours.
