I'm at the doctor's office now waiting. Calling wasn't that bad but it's a srrssorr. Then I got a call saying while I was out they accidentally paid me holiday pay for memorial day and I could pay it back or have the hours taken out of vacation time. That was easier so I did that.
I also vented about the problems with the case worker and how it makes it difficult to want to talk to her. So she said she'd bring that to someone's attention.
I had a stuffed Opus the Penguin for years after high school. He carried a red, heart-shaped pillow that said "Penguin Lust."
They should really make Spike dolls/puppets with "Spike Lust" hearts on them. (Or "Spickle-oost!")
I managed to find and make an appointment with a therapist, so go me?
Too busy to write a long post but hugging everyone virtually.
I got the estimate from the movers, and I'm definitely going to have to borrow some money from my parents to afford this. Blah. I know that I'm lucky that I can ask them and that they'll help, but I still hate having to do it.
Hil, not that it helps with up-front costs, but can you write the moving expenses off your taxes? You're moving a long distance for work, I think that's deductible. #Iamnotanaccountant
Dang it, I'm busy. Focus, Self. Step away from teh innernets.
Yeah, I can deduct the moving costs. The issue at the moment is that the estimate is higher than my savings balance, and higher than the limit on my credit card.
Go you, Dana! Often easier said than done. Taking care of you is a good thing.
I know that I'm lucky that I can ask them and that they'll help, but I still hate having to do it.
I understand, but it is better than not having that option. And you'll be moved! To a better situation! Woo!
Oh. Huh. I got one more paycheck from my old job than I was expecting to get. I thought the one at the end of May was my last one. So, I do still need to borrow some money from my parents, but not as much as I'd thought.
