Yeah, I can deduct the moving costs. The issue at the moment is that the estimate is higher than my savings balance, and higher than the limit on my credit card.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Go you, Dana! Often easier said than done. Taking care of you is a good thing.
I know that I'm lucky that I can ask them and that they'll help, but I still hate having to do it.
I understand, but it is better than not having that option. And you'll be moved! To a better situation! Woo!
Oh. Huh. I got one more paycheck from my old job than I was expecting to get. I thought the one at the end of May was my last one. So, I do still need to borrow some money from my parents, but not as much as I'd thought.
That's awesome, Hil.
Woo! Like a bank error in your favor or something. Can't hurt to have extra when moving for all the stuff you need but didn't think about.
I don't know how you feel about driving a U-Haul but if you can manage that, you may want to look at that option. The U-Haul website gives you the option to hire movers at each end of the trip to load and unload for you. When I looked, it was much less expensive than the moving company quotes I was getting.
Legitimate extra money is always good.
I'm pretty sure I can't drive a U-Haul. I'm also hiring the movers to pack a lot of my stuff -- I know from experience that, while I'm OK with getting the stuff into the boxes, I'm not able to move the boxes around after they're full, which kind of limits how much packing I can do myself.
I'm pretty sure I can't drive a U-Haul.
I've driven a big U-Haul before. It was an adventure. In conclusion, don't.
Do you have any vacation or sick time you can cash out?
