[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

(In fact, I may have just sent the link to Tim with "Birthday Present Idea" in the subject line.)

Aha! So my timing is also masterful!

Welcome back to the fray, Epic! It's always good to see you here.

Thanks, so great to be here!

I've been feeling like crap lately. I wish I'd either get better, or go on and get sick for real so I can stop feeling like I need to power through it!

Hate this feeling. When you feel crappy, but in a sort of undefined way so you feel like you're overindulging yourself if you acknowledge that you feel crappy or being lazy if you try to take it easy. Hope it resolves itself soon - preferably in a Feeling Better sort of way.

Thrive to spite them

No need to worry Epic. Sorry things ahve been hectic good to see you again.

I went to work. It went faster today, one co worker I find annoying wasn't there and there was a lot to do. I think I got everything done, I did the best I could.

I did help one customer and she was asking about a modem and I was showing her a router. I figured out really quickly and apologized and said I'd been out for awhile. But I am so no ready to be on the sales floor.

They changed some scheduling stuff so sales people have a chance to do their things before opening and get the daily paperwork of check ins and stuff done. There was an email about when you'r eon the clock you shouldn't be eating breakfast and there's one person who goes to the morning meeting thingie and eats oatmeal. It's annoying and I wondered if it was directed at her and if this stuff is goingto be enforced.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

askye, I'm glad work went better today. I hope every day gets a little easier for you.

I win at today! I called the consignment shop and she agreed to take a look at the sundresses! So, Mom is taking them home with her (because the consignment shop I like is closer to her). 5 less items in my closet and possible money!

Always Anti-fascist!

Yes, Connie. I find it ironic for a bunch of "draft-dodging peace freaks" but there it is. I think it's because some of the people on the front-page really are regarded as experts in whatever they do and go on TV and stuff. Some of the other bloggers really also want to be Credible and Ready For their Close-ups(Which, I get, but I'm also a little fed up since I've been waiting for a big break that never comes for, like ten years or more. And the thing about "going viral" seems to be that you can't predict it anyway so it seems silly to be constantly prepping. Sometimes I think it's the worst that Billo hated us and made us famous.)

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

askye, I've been so impressed with your progress and determination--you're really an inspiration. I'm sorry I missed wishing you happy on the day, but let me wish you a wonderful, productive, and good year ahead.

epic, welcome back, and all good thoughts to your mom.

I'm really impressed with all you closet-clearers and wardrobe parers. It's hard to let go of stuff, sometimes, so doing it is both onerous and exhilarating. Go you!

bonny, good to see you here. Continued good thoughts for both health and housing. I'm sorry both are being problematic and unpleasantly prolonged.

Yeah--I think my issue with the size charts is, I OFTEN don't fit the size charts at a particular store, yet fit just fine in their stuff. Like where the Gap says I have size 10 hips and size 14 waist, but the size 10 jeans fit just fine around my waist (so if it were 3-4" smaller like the size chart says, they would look ridiculous, but a smaller size would then be too tight in the hips?) So yeah.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

I forgot to say, I've been fitting in to store size 12 lately (not exactly happy about that), meara, so I'd say eShakti has commensurate sizing.

I have seriously had paying gigs that gave me less direction than this one favor.

Thrive to spite them

Today felt like progress but overall it doesn't. I worked 8 hours, actually 9 this week (got in half hour early both days) and I'm just relieved I don't have to go back until Monday.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I tried the specific fitting at eShakti. It was pretty poor. The bust was at least 4" too small, everything else was way tight, too. And I was careful about getting those measurements. It didn't help that their shipper, DHL, refused to leave the dress without my signature and couldn't come at any time (after 6 or on weekends) that I was home. The only reason I ever got the dress was that a neighbor came home early due to feeling sick, so DHL's fourth delivery attempt was handed to her. Does eShakti say, on their site, that apartment dwellers are second class clients who have to take time off work or designate a backup to get their goods? Nope. Did talking to customer service resolve the issue? Nope. After all that bother, the dress didn't fit and I had to pay to send it back. Pity. Some of their dresses look very nice, but they'll never see another dime of my money unless they mug me for it (or change shippers).
