Mom called, or rahter she dialed and when I answered the phone my nephew was singing Happy Birthday. His idea! Then they hung up to read stories.
He's almost 7 I figure that's pretty good for him.
Then I got into a weird situation in Second Life which can have more drama than any kind of fandom wankiness out there. Basically two differnt sets of friends that slightly overlap threw surprise parties for me at the same time. FEelings got hurt because I coudln't figure out how to split my time and frankly liked/knew the majority of the people at one better than the other. But feelings HURT. So most of the part was me in IMs trying to smooth things over and making it worse. Whatever. I was all sad because I really don't have any one to celebrate with in RL and I got an awesome party with people who really know me and celebrated my weirdness.
I mean you guys konw me and love me and celebrate my weirdness but this was a viritual party in way that can't happen outside something like second life.
Happy Birthday, askye!!! I'm sorry about the drama. You deserve a drama free birthday.
I had an OB appointment today. ltc is doing well. She made it difficult to get her heartbeat because she does not sit still, but when they did get it, it was good and strong. I need to make an appointment with the anesthesiologist next week so that I can figure out what to expect. I still haven't gained much weight, which doesn't seem to be a concern. I suspect this would not be the case if I could have milkshakes and unlimited portions of pasta.
So, my mother is still trying to convince me that I shouldn't get a first-floor apartment, because it's dangerous. I asked where she thought I should live, then, since Cincinnati doesn't really seem to have high-rise apartment buildings. She had no answer. She's also scared because I'm going to look at apartments alone, and according to Law & Order, rapists and murderers use Craigslist ads to lure unsuspecting women. I don't know how she thinks I managed to live in DC for seven years.
Tell her about the three-ways. But don't mention chili.
Then mention a 5 way and see if her head explodes
At Blue Ash Chili, you can get a 6-way (it's a 5-way with deep-fried jalapenos on top).
Zen, that sounds like a cool hobby. Too bad you don't live here. A lot of the campus departments have art shows that showcase local artists that rotate through every couple of months; your stuff sounds just up their alley.
Oh, that sounds great! I doubt anyone would want to showcase this "art" of mine, though; it's mainly dioramas that entertain my inner child. Dinosaurs are often involved.
Happy birthday, askye!
Happy apartment hunting, Hil!
They have a program called WRAP: Wisconsin Regional Art Program and anyone can submit their art for consideration. It is very cool. I, personally, think dioramas with dinosaurs would fit. You're using found objects and that is very chi-chi right now.
