I just had to check and the street I was on was Whitfield.
I lived one block over from Whitfield. Great location.
I wonder if the little art house movie theater is still around the corner.
The Esquire is still going strong.
I'm sure that Skyline is still there and the UDF.
Yes and yes.
I got the official job offer.
This afternoon's plan is to call around to rental places and apartment ads and try to get some sort of schedule set up for seeing apartments, because nobody is responding to emails. Well, except for one who let me know that the apartment is on the fourth floor of a building with no elevator, so that's not going to work.
Hooray, official job offer!
Congratulations! That's fantastic.
Yay, officialdom! Yay, for encouraging next stages!
Yay for official job offer! Moving is so exciting.
I had put an ad on Freecycle asking for old, unwanted, or broken toys, because I use them in dioramas and art projects, and it occurred to me that I could maybe get some cool stuff for free that way. One person responded, and I picked up here bag today. Among the expected bag o' crap were three lovely seashells, a pretty ceramic cat, a nice ceramic toad (it's good luck to find a toad!), two little plastic tigers, and a classic Breyer horse, all in perfect condition, and a model airplane from Smithsonian that looks like it has all the parts. I call that successful scavenging.
I got the official job offer.
Yay! Best of luck apartment hunting. I know how hard it is to find a good place when accessibility is an issue, and I hope you find something perfect and soon.
Woo hoo Hil!
Lots and lots of ~ma and love to those who need it. I've been keeping up as best I can, but it's a losing battle this month.
I've braved the dreaded phone and made some calls to rental agents, because no one is answering emails. Left two messages. I'll see if they respond to those.
Also, one apartment posted on craigslist that looks really good, and I've emailed twice, with no answer, and the ad doesn't have a phone number. They've re-posted the ad several times, though. Weird.
