That's excellent! Children's is SO outstanding. (Which obviously isn't relevant to either of us in a direct way, but, as you said, their ability to refer to other doctors is a huge help. And I think they raise the general quality of healthcare in the area.)
If you need a primary-care doctor and if my awesome doctor is taking new patients, I recommend him unreservedly.
Awesome.
Now, I'm just getting a little antsy about not having the official offer letter yet. But I should have it soon. Last Tuesday, the person at the math department said that it would take "a few days," and then I emailed him again over the weekend, and he said he'd look into it, but he hasn't gotten back to me yet.
When I was a student at UC I lived near Clifton and Ludlow. It was a great neighborhood. I rented the ground floor of a huge old Victorian house that I LOVED. That place was amazing. The neighborhood is minutes from the campus and was awesome.
I just had to check and the street I was on was Whitfield. I can't remember the house number any more. I wonder if the little art house movie theater is still around the corner. I'm sure that Skyline is still there and the UDF.
Hil I really hope you get a great place to live and an offer soon.
I was awake at 4:30 am with my phone alerts going off with birthday wishes from my UK SL friends. I have a Facebook account for that and I get phone alerts usually doesn't go off much. They don't know so didn't realize they were waiting me up.
Also mom's cat is home. Meowing loudly at the door demanding entrance and scritches

I lived one block over from Whitfield. Great location.

The Esquire is still going strong.

Yes and yes.
I got the official job offer.
This afternoon's plan is to call around to rental places and apartment ads and try to get some sort of schedule set up for seeing apartments, because nobody is responding to emails. Well, except for one who let me know that the apartment is on the fourth floor of a building with no elevator, so that's not going to work.
Hooray, official job offer!
Congratulations! That's fantastic.
Yay, officialdom! Yay, for encouraging next stages!
