My sister informed me yesterday that she's going to start naming her panic attacks like hurricanes, which I think is fabulous and am going to adopt immediately. I swear, she could almost be the next Bloggess if she wanted, her sense of humor is viciously funny and she's got a knack for coining words.
Typo, glad they found a workaround.
Connie, that is tough. Is there an activity you might both like that wouldn't require much talking, like seeing a movie or a play or something? Bonus, automatic conversation topic.
do what makes sense , conie, including telling her that you like be alone
good stuff about your sister smonster
Connie, that's difficult. I would be honest about how it is difficult for you to spend a lot of time with other people, and then maybe take smonsters suggestion and do something that doesn't require much talking a couple times a year if you feel up to it.
I'm trying to get onerous tasks done today, and I can't actually get through to anyone, which is annoying.
Connie, that's difficult
I told her what my days off were and invited her to suggest something in the future. She's got pre-teens and probably doesn't have the ability to re-organize her day on the fly that I do on those days, so I'm leaving it up to her to give suggestions. That at least gives her the impression that I'm open to things without me having to come up with things.
Of course, she likes to think of herself as spontaneous and fun-loving, but I imagine having to organize the lives of herself, a husband, and two kids has knocked some of the shine of spontaneity.
{{Bitches}} Overwhelmed here and mostly reading and nodding.
Drew, quick~relief~ma! Being in the ER does not count as quality time off.
Tons of pain-relief~ma headed ND's way.

My father-in-law is going to be here in about a half hour to take me to my infusion, and my anxiety levels are still high. I can't really take anything. Any suggestions for calming down quickly?
Slow deep breaths? Cool washcloths (or ice packs) on your wrists?
Does anyone have a snuggly kitten or puppy you can hug?
Breathing isn't helping. I'll try the ice on the wrists that usually helps, I was just to anxious to think of it. I think it's partly that we're about to have a big storm and my body is being wonky.
Everyone around me has cats, which I'm deathly allergic to, so snuggling one would definitely not be calming.
