I hope you don't think that I just come over for the spells and everything. I mean, I really like just talking and hanging out with you and stuff.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

What is Chloe's favorite color besides violet? I can't parse that.

Aqua, I believe. I approve of her colour scheme.

How did you eventually pick him up, billy tea? What a jerkface cab place

I didn't; the school nurse wound up driving him over to our place. Thankfully, Ryan was her only charge at the time. We were very grateful.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

That said, of course, I have opinions too, and a long email that I wrote up for a friend last year with my recommendations. I can forward it to you -- is your profile address good?

Kate, if you don't mind, would you forward tat email to me, too? Thanks!

Aw, billytea. I'm sorry you (and Ryan) are sick, but the story of his classmates is so adorable.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Oh bt, that's a rough week. safe landings!

sj, I agree with Sparky that you need fewer items than you think, but I've noticed each family comes up with its own routine so what seemed vital to one friend was wasted on another, etc. I would say: bed of some sort (but remember a newborn can sleep almost anywhere so if you don't have a crib or cradle before the baby is born, don't sweat it), newborn sized diapers, diaper cream, washcloths, changing pad, changing table, burp cloths, some onesies, some blankets (these often double as burp cloths). You'll need a car seat too. Desirable items: a baby wearing device like a baby Bjorn or a sling, some fun bits to mouth like cloth books, and something soft to sleep with.

Mom will want plenty of nursing bras and cami tops. Go ahead and buy nice ones as you might be wearing them a couple years, but only buy a couple at first since you don't know what you'll like until you try them. Nursing pads will save you much embarrassment. I wore a sleeping bra at night too.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Insent to your profile address, juliana!

I do agree that you don't really need as much as you think you'll need, and in general we have tried to keep the baby/kid stuff to a minimum. But then I look over my list of recommended stuff, and it's stupidly long. Sigh. However, a lot of it falls into the "might be nice to have on hand" category, rather than "must have" (and I tried to distinguish between the two). The other thing is that you really don't need to buy everything right away, and you can always return stuff or change your mind after the baby is born, because you don't know what your particular baby will actually want/like/need until s/he is here.

TCG's brother is building us a crib since a standard crib will not work for me. He's a builder so my only real concern is him actually getting the crib to us on a timely basis. So we're getting a co-sleeper bassinet.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

In the meantime you can also clear out a dresser drawer at appropriate height.

And, for your amusement, a programmer's life (with illustrations!).

What I didn't need today is for my PCP to question my OB's decisions and freak me out. She thinks the glyburide I'm taking for my GD is dangerous for ltc.
