I adore that book! It got me into architecture! And I've had a copy for yoinks.

Yay, Connie! I highly recommend a reread.

I really am shocked by how much I remember as I'm reading. I know I read it more than once, but it just went right into my heart, apparently.

Now I'm kind of shocked that I've never been drawn to having an English Bulldog.

Ergh. I hope I have not totally undermined myself.

I had pretty bad heartburn after taking the Diflucan and gave into a huge sugar/carb craving without even thinking that the sugar might counteract the drug.

I'm MUCH better today, but still have some symptoms, dammit.

The sugar shouldn't counteract the Diflucan. Lots of women who take it eat stuff with lots of sugar (::cough::me::cough::), but it still works.

Bless you, Steph.

I've said it before, but it can't be said enough...it is such a comfort to have your wit, wisdom and extensive knowledge in my life!

Thrive to spite them

I need to go out and pick up the piles of leaves that have been sitting around and the sticks so I can mow, because it's mowing season finally.

Also Mom is going to be here Tuesday evening. I cleaned the bathroom. I need to do dishes and pick up stuff and vacuum. My place never got Hoarders bad, but it did get pretty bad. I got to the stock pile of dirty dishes but I made a new pile and the sink needs to be cleaned. She's not expecting clean but it would be nice if it weren't gross.

I discovered ants in the bathroom. They seem localized to the tub and sink so I think they are looking for water (the state is on a burn ban until the 19th because it's so dry). I've killed a few and now I have to figure out how to get rid of them without potentially poisoning anyone or the cat.

I go back to work next Monday. Which is freaking me out a bit.

And I've been playing around with a self paced class on HTML/CSS. It's got other languages but I started with that one. I tried a class through edX on Java but the instructor bothered me. I found one without an instructor and it's been good, not indepth and I'm probably racing through it too fast.

I should add that the sugar was TOTALLY worth it. I had a lemon meringue milk shake from Good Stuff Eatery that was practically a religious experience. Plus some fries.

My Greenlite meals ship tomorrow. Then it is firmly on the wagon for me!

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Best of luck with the drug and the wagon and the glayvin, bonny!

I succumbed to craving yesterday and got a strawberry shake from Boomer's. Oh my, huge chunks of macerated fresh strawberries clogging up my straw, hard-packed vanilla ice cream, and the titular milk. I have to have one at least annually.

Always Anti-fascist!

I love when strawberry stuff has berry bits in it.

Thanks Beverly!

That sounds like a pretty dreamy shake, too.

Either the drug did work (though not all the symptoms are gone) or my milkshake did the trick and blew out my cravings. Today, no need for sugar.

Phew.

My experience with Diflucan for a YI is that it took about 2-3 days to really get rid of all the symptoms, though I noticed some improvement in the first day. But since human bodies are weird, and each one is different, my experience is just anecdata.
