The only thing I really miss are baseball games and baseball highlights. But if I was *really* willing to pay for that a la carte, I could get it. And I can get most highlights online.
Baseball would be really hard to give up. Does anyone have experience watch the MLB network with an Amazon Fire TV device or similiar device? Do you have to pay MLB separately? Can you get all the games?
Happy birthday bonny! And happy birthday beth!
sj, I have MLB.tv. I pay an annual subscription price and have ALL the major league games. I can watch on my phone, computer, through Tivo, my Roku, and CJ's playstation. I would think you could through your Amazon Fire but I don't have personal experience. The playback often runs a minute or two behind live play and there is utter silence during commercials. Nice but when the sound returns it typically startles me. I'm watching today's A's game right now AIFG.
My internet & phone are with the cable co.
You can keep those and get rid of the cable, erika; I've done it before with Charter.
I just have Internet through CenturyLink, no cable, my phone is pay-as-you-go.
I am still working on DH to pull the cable plug. Right now I only have Amazon, but that has plenty still for me to watch.
I watch MSNBC streamed. I have to check my laptop for the link. I watch a number of shows live that way when I am working early or late on the laptop. Links for live streaming seem pretty findable.
DH would have to get the ESPN package for internet streaming to satisfy his needs. When I want to catch up on General Hospital I go to YouTube. I also and pretty fast and easy with the downloads if I have a special need.
Laura, live streaming seems doable but there are sometimes conflicts with other things.
