My fear is that I have no self control when it come to marathoning.
One doesn't feel so greedy when you can watch an episode or two every night and it's just there. It's way more manageable, I think.
'Out Of Gas'
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Late Andi?
Right on time!
Pertinent to the marthoning...I am trapped in Buffy streaming. I meant to do 5 episodes. I think I'm up to 8.
Must. Go. To. Bed.
But, BUFFY!
I will say that Netflix has come in very handy for things like Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries, and at the moment, Daredevil. But there were network series that H was resistant to in first run, like Numb3rs, "tying in the math to every case is stupid" or Leverage, "I hate thieves, and plots about scams." I've been able to get him to watch "a couple of episodes" because of the character interaction. "We can always quit if doesn't float your boat." Because it's right there, and he doesn't have to wait till next week for the next episode, he's loving both shows. It's really difficult to get him to watch anything first run, now.
We got through Buffy, Angel, Firefly, Dollhouse, and Supernatural on DVD, and now we're marathoning series he missed back in his overworked and "I hate tv" days.
Oh, and an oops! belated Happy Birthday, Bonny. You too, Beth. I hope your days were as special as you deserve.
How do you make yourself stop after two?
Happy b-day Bonnie! My sister's also.
See, my problem is, there's plenty of shows on Netflix or whatever that I like and want to watch. No shortage of those. It's the "TV I can put on in the background and only half pay attention to but still like" that is in shortage. This is where HGTV and Law and Order (and in a pinch, NCIS) come in handy.
I love the PBS home improvement and cooking shows on the weekend for background noise for cleaning.
The only thing I really miss are baseball games and baseball highlights. But if I was *really* willing to pay for that a la carte, I could get it. And I can get most highlights online.
Baseball would be really hard to give up. Does anyone have experience watch the MLB network with an Amazon Fire TV device or similiar device? Do you have to pay MLB separately? Can you get all the games?
Happy birthday bonny! And happy birthday beth!
sj, I have MLB.tv. I pay an annual subscription price and have ALL the major league games. I can watch on my phone, computer, through Tivo, my Roku, and CJ's playstation. I would think you could through your Amazon Fire but I don't have personal experience. The playback often runs a minute or two behind live play and there is utter silence during commercials. Nice but when the sound returns it typically startles me. I'm watching today's A's game right now AIFG.
