Tonight's dinner: Spaghetti squash in a pink mascarpone sauce with basil, chicken, and peas. I made the sauce and roasted the spaghetti squash. TCG will heat up the chicken and peas.

Spike's Bitches 48: I Say, We Go Out There, and Kick a Little Demon Ass.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
sj, that sounds delicious.
Melissa Harris Perry, Fareed Zakaria, and Anthony Bourdain's show on CNN.
You usually have to be a subscriber to view that content online. I think the basic cable packages carry the news stations, so you may be able to at least drop down.
Your TV has a digital tuner, but you'll probably need an antenna to pick up the signal. It all depends on your sightless to the station's towers.

Thanks! I figured out that if I added milk or cream it would have to count toward my carbs, but the mascarpone doesn't. The only thing I have to count toward my carb load for the meal are the peas.

Thanks, even the most basic plan doesn't drop down the price that much. Cable companies are just so frustratingly expensive, and our current package is about to go up $30 a month.
I have only antenna TV and watch shows online. I read my news, because I can pick up a lot more information reading compared to listening to people talk and make commentary and waste time on fluff and sports.
Happy (as possible) birthday, Beth! I hope cat no. 2 continues to improve.
Yeah, I just called my cable company yesterday--in the past they've had options where I could sign up for a year of some bundle and lower the price, or drop something or whatever...this time they were like "Well, you could drop Starz? That's $5 a month. Or, um, lower your internet speed by half, but that's also only $5/month savings..." Grrreat. Am trying to figure out if I really need/want cable all that much. I may drop it for the summer.
Beth, tons of cat~ma, and I hope you get to do something fun for your birthday.
The verdict on dinner is that the spaghetti squash was a little disappointing because we couldn't get it to shred into long strands, just short little bits. However, my sauce was delicious and satisfied my craving for some Italian style comfort food. Next time I'm going to try to make zucchini noodles with my new spiralizer.

I've always been able to negotiate a new contract in the past, but today my company said, "We don't negotiate prices anymore because it's too confusing."
Bullshit it's too confusing; that's what computers are for. I've been debating dropping cable, too; I've got Netflix and Amazon, I think all I'd need to add is Hulu+ and I'd be able to watch pretty much everything I want to.
My problem is I pretty much only watch two cable TV channels--HGTV and USA. Well, and right now, Starz for Outlander. And I'm not sure those two channels (which I only occasionally watch, though I tend to binge-watch either Love it or List it, or Law and Order) is worth the $90 a month cable is costing me!
It looks like Fareed's show is available on iTunes for a fee but not the MHP show.
